‘Always had a weight problem’
Sharon Osbourne confessed that she took a calculated risk when she decided to try Ozempic in a desperate attempt to lose weight.
During an episode of Bill Maher’s “Club Random” podcast on Sunday, the 70-year-old opened up about her slimmer figure after using Hollywood’s favorite weight loss medication.
“When you have a weight problem and you’ve exhausted all other options, and then someone tells you to take this injection and you’ll become skinny,” she shared.
Maher expressed his reluctance to use the drug due to his fear of injecting “foreign substances” into his body.
The comedian stated that weight loss medication is a game of “taking chances,” to which Osbourne agreed.
“For me, the first few weeks were terrible because I was constantly throwing up. I felt extremely nauseous,” she shared. “But after a couple of weeks, it subsided.”
Although she is no longer using the drug, Osbourne revealed that it suppressed her appetite to the point where she rarely feels hungry now.
After the initial few weeks of nausea, she explained that she felt “fine” and experienced no adverse effects.
“I’ve been off it for a while now. My stomach has shrunk,” she said, adding that she was never an overeater but always struggled with her weight.
In a previous interview in May, Osbourne mentioned suffering from various side effects after taking the weight loss medication, although she did not specify which drug it was at the time.
“I was very sick for a couple of months,” she shared on the UK’s “The Talk.” “During the first couple of months, I felt nauseous every day, my stomach was upset, and so on.”
Osbourne stated that she took the medication for four months and lost 30 pounds, but emphasized that there is no quick fix for weight loss.
