Amy Schumer trolls Ashton Kutcher for Danny Masterson support
Amy Schumer’s trolling knows no bounds. After facing accusations of “cyberbullying” Nicole Kidman on Instagram, the comedian turned her attention to Ashton Kutcher and Mila Kunis in her apology. In a now-deleted Instagram post on Monday, Schumer made light of the support letters that Kutcher and Kunis wrote for their former co-star Danny Masterson, who was convicted of rape in May. The “I Feel Pretty” star, 42, apologized to her followers for hurting people with her photo of Kidman and insinuating that she was an alien. Schumer sarcastically added that she would be seeking forgiveness from the cast of “That ’70s Show” and included the hashtag “#takingtimetoheal.”
Schumer’s mockery of Kutcher and Kunis in relation to Masterson’s sentencing letters came after she faced backlash for posting and subsequently deleting a picture of Kidman, 56, looking serious at the 2023 US Open over the weekend. She captioned the photo with “This how human sit,” which led to criticism from her followers, who called her “mean” and “insecure” in the comments section. Representatives for Schumer and Kidman have yet to respond to requests for comment from TheFantasyTimes.
Schumer’s sarcastic apology referenced the character letters that Kutcher, 45, and Kunis, 40, wrote to the judge after Masterson’s rape conviction. The apology, which Schumer posted and quickly deleted but was captured and shared on Twitter by observant social media users, highlighted the backlash faced by Kutcher and Kunis for their support of Masterson. Prior to Masterson’s sentencing to 30 years to life in prison for two rapes, the couple praised him in their letters. Kutcher wrote, “As a friend, Danny has been nothing but a positive influence on me,” and defended Masterson as not being “an ongoing harm to society.” Masterson’s wife also expressed admiration for his “grace and empathy” and emphasized his sense of responsibility and care for others.
After the public release of the letters on Friday, Kunis and Kutcher clarified their stance via Instagram, stating, “We support victims. We have done this historically through our work and will continue to do so in the future.” However, their statements have been met with criticism from Masterson’s accusers, as well as Christina Ricci and Kathy Griffin. Masterson, who is a member of the Church of Scientology, was charged in June 2020 with raping three women. He pleaded not guilty and was found guilty on two counts in May, while the third count was dismissed due to a hung jury. The women, who were previously affiliated with the Church of Scientology, have accused the organization of pressuring them to remain silent, a claim that the church denies.
Amy Schumer’s trolling can’t be tamed.

In a since-deleted Instagram post Monday, Schumer poked fun at the support letters that the “That ’70s Show” alums wrote for their former co-star Danny Masterson, who was convicted of rape in May.
“I want to apologize to all the people I hurt posting a photo of Nicole Kidman and alluding to her being an alien,” the “I Feel Pretty” star, 42, told her followers.
“I will be asking the cast of that 70s show to write letters advocating for my forgiveness,” she sarcastically continued, adding the hashtag “#takingtimetoheal.”

The social media upload came after Schumer found herself under fire for posting a picture of Kidman, 56, sitting with a serious expression at the 2023 US Open over the weekend that she subsequently deleted.
“This how human sit,” the “Trainwreck” star captioned the snap, with many of her followers calling her “mean” and “insecure” in the comments section.

Before the disgraced actor, 47, was sentenced last week to 30 years to life in prison for two rapes, the couple praised him in letters to the judge.
“As a friend, Danny has been nothing but a positive influence on me,” Kutcher wrote, claiming that his fellow “Ranch” alum was not “an ongoing harm to society.”

His wife gushed over Masterson’s “grace and empathy” before writing, “Danny has consistently displayed a profound sense of responsibility and care for those around him.”
After the letters went public Friday, the duo issued a clarification via Instagram.
“We support victims. We have done this historically through our work and will continue to do so in the future,” Kunis said.
