Andy Cohen ‘very’ surprised by Kyle Richards, Mauricio Umansky split
Andy Cohen expresses his astonishment at Kyle Richards’ separation from husband Mauricio Umansky after 27 years of marriage.
While the Bravo guru remains tight-lipped about spoilers for the upcoming season of “Real Housewives of Beverly Hills,” set to air in the fall, he does provide some hints about what fans can expect.
“I believe that when you watch the new season of ‘Beverly Hills,’ the news of Richards and Umansky’s split will be less surprising,” he exclusively told TheFantasyTimes at a party celebrating the new cast of “RHONY” on Wednesday night.
Richards, 54, and Umansky, 53, shocked “RHOBH” fans earlier this month when it was revealed that they were parting ways after more than two decades of marriage.
Rumors began circulating about Richards’ close relationship with country music singer Morgan Wade over the past year, suggesting that it may have played a role in their split.
The estranged couple, who have three daughters together – Alexia, 27, Sophia, 23, and Portia, 15 – released a statement confirming marital discord but denied any allegations of wrongdoing.
Cohen revealed that he has “communicated” with Richards since the separation, but he declined to provide details, stating that it was a “private conversation.”
Sources previously informed TheFantasyTimes that although the upcoming season was filmed months ago, Bravo resumed filming to capture the aftermath of the news.

“Producers know that fans want to see how Kyle and Mauricio arrived at this decision,” our source told us.
Cohen also confirmed earlier that the season would address the separation.
“I want to say that this will be included in some way, shape, or form in the next season of ‘Beverly Hills.’ That’s all I’ll say,” he said on his SiriusXM show, “Radio Andy,” earlier this week.
Meanwhile, the host of “Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen” was present on Wednesday to celebrate a different franchise.
“I just want [the audience] to meet the women, give them a chance, and get to know them like they would any new friends,” Cohen said of the new “RHONY” cast, which includes Jenna Lyons, Jessel Taank, Sai De Silva, Ubah Hassan, Erin Dana Lichy, and Brynn Whitfield.
He added, “And also, it’s important to know that this isn’t the same group. This is a completely new show, and it’s a lot of fun.”

“I think we probably do more research now about people’s backgrounds than we did before,” he said, before noting that it’s impossible to be 100 percent sure about anyone.
“I think that there are just some things that you just can’t find out but hope for the best, hope for the best.”
