Back to 15 (Season 2) (July 5) Netflix
Wouldn’t you like to go back to when you were 15 years old? Anita did! In the first season of Back to 15, Anita went back in time to when she was only 15 years old, with Maisa as the teenage Anita and Camila Queiroz as the 30-year-old adult version. This new season of the Brazilian comedy series brings the girls back, only now there are more complications. Anita needs to return to her 15-year-old self to fix the life of her sister Luiza. However, things take a turn when Joel hacks into Anita’s Floguinho account and becomes a time traveler. As she meddles with the lives of others, she finds out that her perfect day in Paris with Henrique no longer happened. This leads her to wonder what new future will unfold for her. Anita has to work together with Joel to navigate romantic dilemmas and figure out what to do.
My Happy Marriage (Season 1) (July 5) Netflix
A new anime romance/sci-fi series on Netflix, this one is sure to touch your heart! Based on the light novel series written by Akum Agitogi, My Happy Marriage is a Cinderella-inspired anime. Miyo Saimori is a child born in a loveless, arranged, noble marriage. When her mother died, her father brought in his lover and his lover’s daughter Kaya. Since then, Miyo has been living her life as their servant. To make matters worse, Kaya inherited the family’s psychic abilities, while Miyo has none. Miyo has learned to simply keep her head down and obey any rules given to her. This includes an arranged marriage with Kiyoka Kudou, a military caption rumored to be so cold-hearted that he turned down every potential wife. Miyo expects to have a painful marriage but learns that her new husband is very kind-hearted. What truly awaits her is a blissful and happy marriage.
Nineteen to Twenty (Season 1) (July 11) Netflix
Leaving behind those teenage years to become an adult can be quite scary. Turning 20 is no easy feat. You have only one year left until you can legally drink. Other adults are less inclined to call you “kid.” That transition can be a strange one. Now there’s going to be a show about it! This South Korean reality series tracks the lives of a group of 19-year-olds in the last week of their teen years as they go into the first week of their twenties together. The group gets to experience the freedoms and “firsts” of adulthood. One of many Netflix reality shows that seem strange in concept, but give it a shot!
Kohrra (Season 1) (July 15) Netflix
Don’t you hate it when something goes wrong at your wedding? Specifically, when somebody gets killed just a few days before the big day? Then this Indian crime thriller is right for you! Another brand-new series on Netflix, this drama is about two cops who must unravel a troubling case as turbulence unfolds in their own lives. The case is the death of an NRI bridegroom found dead just days before his wedding. Kohrra promises to be gritty and suspenseful. Let’s hope Netflix can deliver that with their new original series.
The Witcher (Season 3 – Volume 2) (July 27) Netflix
The final half of the third season of Henry Cavill’s The Witcher is upon us. No, this does not mean this is the show’s last season. It means that Cavill will not return as Geralt to pursue other projects. To catch us up, season three focuses on Geralt’s journey to protect Ciri of Cinatra from dangerous beasts and greedy monarchs hunting her down. The show focuses on Geralt, a witcher and mutated monster hunter who struggles to find his place in a world where the people are far more wicked than the beasts. This seems like a fitting end as Cavill passes the torch onto Liam Hemsworth for the fourth season. Be prepared to say your goodbyes to our main witcher come July!
