Billie Eilish honors Angus Cloud with ‘Never Felt So Alone’ tribute at Lollapalooza

During her headlining performance at Lollapalooza on Thursday night, Billie Eilish took a moment to honor Angus Cloud. Towards the end of her set on the T-Mobile stage at Grant Park in Chicago, she sang “Never Felt So Alone,” a song she collaborated on with Labrinth for the second season of “Euphoria.” After finishing the song, Eilish, 21, paid tribute to Cloud, saying “RIP Angus Cloud everybody,” which was met with cheers from the crowd.

Angus Cloud was best known for his role as Fezco, or “Fez,” in the popular HBO drama series “Euphoria,” alongside Zendaya, Jacob Elordi, Sydney Sweeney, Hunter Schafer, Alexa Demie, Maude Apatow, and others. The actor tragically passed away at the age of 25 earlier this week at his family’s home in Oakland, California.

During her set at Lollapalooza, Billie Eilish also performed “What Was I Made For?” and had the crowd singing along. This song was featured in Greta Gerwig’s highly successful “Barbie” movie starring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling. Eilish’s set list also included hits like “Everything I Wanted,” “Ocean Eyes,” “Bury a Friend,” “Therefore I Am,” and “You Should See Me in a Crown.” She was joined on stage by her music producer brother, Finneas.

It’s worth noting that Eilish recently performed with her childhood idol, Hayley Williams of Paramore, at The Forum in Los Angeles. They sang a powerful rendition of Paramore’s 2009 track “All I Wanted,” a song Eilish had previously performed an aerial routine to before she gained fame.

Billie Eilish’s appearance at Lollapalooza comes after her performances at the festival’s international editions in Chile, Brazil, and Berlin. She made her debut at Chicago’s Lollapalooza in 2018. This year’s festival will continue with performances by Lana Del Rey, Red Hot Chili Peppers, Kendrick Lamar, The 1975, Pusha T, Tomorrow x Together, and more.

“It is with the heaviest heart that we had to say goodbye to an incredible human today. As an artist, a friend, a brother and a son, Angus was special to all of us in so many ways,” his family said in a statement Monday.

“We hope the world remembers him for his humor, laughter and love for everyone. We ask for privacy at this time as we are still processing this devastating loss.”

The family noted that Cloud was “intensely” struggling with the recent loss of his father, who died two months ago from a brief battle with cancer.

“The only comfort we have is knowing Angus is now reunited with his dad, who was his best friend,” they shared.

“Angus was open about his battle with mental health, and we hope that his passing can be a reminder to others that they are not alone and should not fight this on their own in silence.”

An official cause of death has yet to be revealed.

As for the rest of Billie’s set Thursday night, the singer – rocking a Michael Jordan Chicago Bulls jersey and her new red ‘do – had the crowd singing (and crying) along to “What Was I Made For?”

The song is featured as the backtrack in a now-viral scene from Greta Gerwig’s massively successful “Barbie” movie starring Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling.

Eilish’s set list also included hits like “Everything I Wanted,” “Ocean Eyes,” “Bury a Friend,” “Therefore I Am” and “You Should See Me in a Crown,” along with a special onstage appearance by her music producer brother, Finneas.

Eilish’s appearance at Lollapalooza comes just weeks after she hit the stage with her childhood hero, Hayley Williams, for Paramore’s show at The Forum in Los Angeles.

The two rocked out while singing a rad rendition of the band’s 2009 track “All I Wanted,” which a young-Eilish once performed an aerial routine to – years before she found fame.

“UGHHDKSLDJSKFJKSKFUDJSKKFKDKDK dream come truEEEEEE @paramore waaahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh😭😭,” Eilish, clearly at a loss for words, captioned an Instagram post documenting the unforgettable night.

“i love you so much hayley holy s–t. wish i could tell tiny me :’)))) @yelyahwilliams.”
