Jennie Kim, the leading member of the K-pop group Blackpink, faced a deteriorating condition during her performance in Melbourne, Australia on Sunday night. The “Pink Venom” hitmakers had to end their set after Jennie, who is 27 years old, felt unwell.

The group’s management company, YG Entertainment, announced in a statement that Jennie could not complete the stage due to her deteriorating condition. Jennie expressed her strong determination to complete the performance, but following medical advice, the group took measures to ensure she received ample rest and stability.

Videos online showed the South Korean singer breathing heavily while relying on support from the stage setup. Jennie is currently recovering and is expected to join the trio on stage for their next show.

Jennie has been on tour with bandmates Lalisa, Jisoo, and Rosé since October 2022. It comes as Jennie recently made her acting debut on Sam Levinson’s new HBO drama series, The Idol starring Lily Rose-Depp and Abel “The Weeknd” Tesfaye. The series, which has released two episodes so far, made headlines this week after viewers were left horrified by a sex scene that aired Sunday night. The show, which also stars Lily-Rose Depp and is the product of Euphoria creator Sam Levinson, has been blasted as “comically bad.” However, Depp, 24, has maintained a positive attitude since the show’s debut at the Cannes Film Festival despite being criticized for showing too much “breast” and “ass.”

The footage in question showed The Weeknd, now known by his given name, Abel Tesfaye, telling a woman to “f–kin’ stretch that tiny little p—y” while she stuck her fingers in her mouth.

The show, which also stars Lily-Rose Depp and is the product of “Euphoria” creator Sam Levinson, has been blasted as “comically bad.”
