Britney Spears hires high-powered divorce lawyer amid Sam Asghari split
Exclusive sources have revealed that Britney Spears has enlisted the services of renowned divorce lawyer Laura Wasser as she navigates her separation from Sam Asghari. The pop star’s choice to hire Wasser, known for representing high-profile clients, suggests that the split may escalate into a contentious legal battle. Earlier reports indicated that Asghari, 29, is seeking to modify the terms of their prenuptial agreement, and has allegedly threatened to reveal damaging information about Spears if his demands are not met. Asghari’s representatives have not responded to requests for comment on these claims.
Spears’ decision to work with Wasser is not surprising, as the attorney previously represented her during her custody battle with Kevin Federline, her ex-husband and father of her two sons. In 2008, a judge ordered Spears to pay Federline $20,000 per month in child support. Wasser, who has since represented numerous A-list clients such as Kim Kardashian, Johnny Depp, Kevin Costner, and Joe Manganiello, emphasizes the importance of prenuptial agreements for all couples, regardless of their celebrity status.
Furthermore, Spears’ legal team includes former federal prosecutor Mathew Rosengart, who played a crucial role in freeing her from her 13-year conservatorship. Rosengart also worked on negotiating the terms of her agreement with Asghari, ensuring that her father, Jamie Spears, who previously served as her conservator, would not interfere with the prenuptial agreement. The couple’s split comes more than a year after their star-studded wedding at Spears’ California home in June 2022. TMZ sources suggest that Asghari ended the relationship after confronting Spears about rumors of infidelity.
At the time of writing, representatives for Spears and Wasser have not responded to requests for comment.
Britney Spears has stacked her legal team with divorce lawyer to the stars Laura Wasser amid her separation from Sam Asghari, a source tells TheFantasyTimes exclusively.
An insider with knowledge of the situation confirmed to us Wednesday that the pop star hired the powerhouse attorney as her split from the Iranian-born actor is likely to turn into a nasty battle inside the courtroom.
A source told TheFantasyTimes exclusively earlier on Wednesday that Asghari, 29, is allegedly seeking to change the terms of the prenuptial agreement that he and Spears, 41, signed.
The insider alleged that the “Family Business” actor is “attempting to negotiate concessions beyond his prenup and threatening to go public with extraordinarily embarrassing information about Britney unless he gets paid.”
Reps for Asghari did not return TheFantasyTimes’s request for comment on those allegations.

Spears hiring Wasser, 55, may not come as a surprise as the “Piece of Me” singer hired the family law attorney when she was fighting her ex-husband Kevin Federline for custody of their two sons, Sean Preston, now 17, and Jayden, now 16, back in 2008.
At the time, a judge ordered Spears to pay Federline, 45, $20,000 a month in child support payments.
Wasser previously said her superstar client was pleased with the ruling and told reporters, “Britney is doing great. She’s with her kids right now.”

The Los Angeles-based lawyer has since taken on a string of A-list clientele, including Kim Kardashian, Johnny Depp, and more recently, Kevin Costner and Joe Manganiello.
Wasser is a big advocate for everyone — not just celebrities — to get their finances in order before getting married.

She said in January 2020, “Every couple should have a prenuptial agreement, regardless of wealth. You are making the biggest decision of your life to marry someone, so you should have an agreement about key things like kids, finances and how you plan to care for your parents as they get older.”

Former federal prosecutor Mathew Rosengart, who helped free Spears from her 13-year conservatorship in November 2021, worked out the terms of the Grammy winner’s agreement with Asghari.
After the personal trainer proposed in September 2021 with a custom ring, the attorney ensured that same month that Jamie Spears, his client’s father and former conservator, did not impede on the prenup’s terms.
Britney and Asghari’s split comes more than a year after the estranged couple got married in a star-studded wedding at the “Toxic” singer’s California home in June 2022.

Sources told TMZ Wednesday that the “Can You Keep a Secret” actor pulled the plug on the relationship after confronting the “Hold Me Closer” singer over rumors she cheated on him.
“It’s only a matter of time before Sam files for divorce,” an insider claimed.
Reps for Spears and Wasser did not immediately return TheFantasyTimes’s request for comment.
