Ciara bursts out laughing when asked about co-parenting with ex Future
Ciara skillfully avoided answering questions about her co-parenting relationship with her ex, Future, during an interview with Thembi from the Shade Room. Instead, she burst into laughter and expressed her admiration for Thembi. When asked about co-parenting, Ciara responded with giggles, indicating that it spoke for itself. Ciara and Future got engaged in October 2013 but ended their relationship in August of the following year, just two months after the birth of their son, Future Zahir. After their split, their co-parenting issues became public in January 2016 when Future publicly criticized Ciara online. In response, Ciara filed a $15 million lawsuit against Future, accusing him of slander and libel. The case was dropped eight months later. Ciara later opened up about why she ended her engagement with Future, explaining how she would cry in the shower because she wasn’t in a happy place and the situation was painful for her. She emphasized that she wanted her child to grow up in a household like the one she had with her parents. Ciara also expressed the added pressure of living her life in the public eye and the fear of being criticized by others. Despite the heartbreak, Ciara found her happy ending when she married Russell Wilson in 2016. They have since welcomed two children together and are currently expecting their third. While Ciara has taken the high road in her relationship with Future, he has continued to make derogatory remarks about her and her husband in his music. In a recent track, Future seemingly dissed Russell Wilson, who is raising Future Zahir as his own, by saying, “I got it out the field, f–k Russell.” It’s worth noting that Future is a father to five other children with different women.
She did the “1, 2 Step” around that question.

The following month, Ciara sued the “Life Is Good” rapper for $15 million, citing slander and libel. The case was dropped eight months later.
A few years later, the “How We Roll” singer got candid about why she called off her engagement with Future.

“I’d be in the shower … crying because I’m not in the happiest place and it hurts what I’m going through,” she said on an episode of “Red Table Talk” in 2019. “It was a combination of everything because none of it was ideal.”
Ciara said she grew up in a home where her parents were together and always wanted her child to grow up with the same life.
“All of a sudden, you’re living your life in front of the world,” she added. “That adds a whole other layer. ‘I feel like I’m failing right now. They’re gonna roast me. Here they come in the comment section.’ … All that stuff. It’s real. You can’t help but to think of it.”

The “Like A Boy” singer shared that she did not want to stay in a relationship that wasn’t healthy and was “not going to get any better” for the sake of her son Future Zahir.

Despite her heartbreak, Ciara found her fairytale ending when she wed NFL star Russell Wilson in July 2016.
The two went on to welcome daughter Sienna in April 2017 and son Win in July 2020. Wilson, 34, and the “Promise” songstress are still expanding their family, as Ciara is currently pregnant with their third baby.
While Ciara has taken the high road when it comes to her ex Future, the rapper has been known to take constant digs at her and her husband in his music.

Most recently, the two-time Grammy winner released a new track with Quavo in July called “Turn Yo Clic Up,” in which he seemingly dissed the Denver Broncos quarterback, who is raising Future Zahir as his own.
In the song, Future rapped, “I got it out the field, f–k Russell.”
The rapper is also a dad to five other children with five other women.
