Craig Conover says Lindsay, Carl’s split will ‘make more sense’ after ‘Summer House’ airs
Craig Conover suggests that viewers will gain a deeper understanding of why Carl Radke decided to end his engagement to Lindsay Hubbard after watching the upcoming season of “Summer House.” Conover, who is dating Hubbard’s castmate Paige DeSorbo, expresses his surprise at their split and reveals that he had spent most of the summer with them in the Hamptons. He emphasizes that their breakup was not sudden and that they had been dealing with their issues for two months. Conover had meaningful conversations with both Hubbard and Radke in recent months and believes that the situation will make more sense with additional context. He shares that he learned about the breakup via a text message while returning from the US Open and was taken aback by the news. Radke and Hubbard called off their engagement less than three months before their scheduled wedding, as confirmed by TheFantasyTimes. Radke later sent a letter to their wedding guests, expressing his and Hubbard’s devastation over the situation and apologizing for the confusion and lack of communication. He also addresses the false narratives and misunderstandings surrounding their breakup. Radke asks for patience and grace as they navigate this difficult time. The couple had planned to have their wedding in Mexico, but due to the breakup, they had to change their plans, which Radke acknowledges and offers to help cover any associated costs. A source reveals that Hubbard was blindsided by Radke’s letter and expresses her hurt over it. The couple first met in 2016 before filming Season 1 of “Summer House” and briefly dated in 2019. Hubbard confirmed their rekindled relationship in January 2022, and Radke proposed less than a year later on Bravo’s cameras. Hubbard has not directly addressed the split, but she has removed most of her Instagram posts with Radke. The ninth season of “Southern Charm” premieres on September 14th on Bravo, with episodes available for streaming the following day on Peacock.
Craig Conover says viewers will get a better understanding of why Carl Radke called off his engagement to Lindsay Hubbard after watching the upcoming season of “Summer House.”
“I was very surprised,” Conover exclusively tells TheFantasyTimes of their split.
“I at least thought they would get married and then whatever happened, happened, but also whenever everyone gets to see the season, it’ll make a lot more sense.”
The “Southern Charm” star — who’s dating Hubbard and Radke’s castmate Paige DeSorbo — explains that he was in the Hamptons with them for most of the summer.
“For two months, we had all dealt with this. You know, it’s not like they had a great summer and all of the sudden this happens,” he teases.
Conover adds that he had some “great conversations” with both Hubbard and Radke in recent months.
“I just think, obviously, the end result without any context at all was going to be tough for people to wrap their heads around,” he explains. “I think it’ll make more sense with more context, that’s all.”

The Sewing Down South founder, 35, also shares how he found out about the former couple’s breakup.
“I was coming back from the US Open, and I got the text message and I was like, ‘Oh my God!’” he recalls.
TheFantasyTimes confirmed last month that Radke, 38, and Hubbard, 37, called off their engagement less than three months before they were set to say “I do.”

Two weeks later, People obtained a letter Radke sent to wedding guests claiming his ex-fiancée was “devastated” over the situation.
“Words cannot possibly express how difficult the last two weeks have been for Lindsay and I. We are so incredibly sorry to all of our guests for the confusion and lack of communication,” he wrote.
“We were left trying to figure out how this all exactly happened before we could even have the opportunity to determine the path forward amongst ourselves.”

Radke also addressed the “false narratives and misunderstandings that have made this all the more painful.”
“The fact of the matter is Lindsay is devastated and I’m crushed with how all this transpired,” he continued. “I graciously ask for some patience and grace to heal and recover while we navigate this extremely difficult time.”

He further apologized for the “mess” it has created since they had planned for the wedding to be in Mexico.
“I don’t take [this] lightly. We are super grateful for the love and support you have shown us and will do what I can to help with any costs associated with changing plans,” he added.

Shortly after, a source exclusively told TheFantasyTimes that Hubbard was blindsided by the letter.
“Lindsay did not approve of Carl’s letter before it was made public, so there is no ‘we,’” the insider said. “She’s definitely hurt by it, for sure.”
The now-exes met in 2016 before filming Season 1 of “Summer House” and briefly dated in 2019.

Hubbard confirmed to TheFantasyTimes in January 2022 that they were dating once again, and Radke proposed less than a year later in front of Bravo cameras.
Hubbard has yet to directly address the split, but she recently removed nearly all of her Instagram posts with Radke.
Season 9 of “Southern Charm” premieres with a supersized episode Thursday, Sept. 14, at 9 p.m. ET on Bravo. Episodes will be available to stream the next day on Peacock.
