Detailed Starlight Cosplay Looks Straight Out Of A Video Game

The detailed cosplay of Starlight looks like it’s straight out of a video game for The Boys. In the debut episode of the Prime Video series, Erin Moriarty played Annie January, who served as the audience’s surrogate into the world of The Seven and exposed the true nature of its supposed heroes. Moriarty’s performance immediately endeared viewers to Annie, who eventually took on the moniker Starlight and proved to be a formidable character with unique powers.

Birdy Latice shared an impressive cosplay of Starlight on Instagram ahead of The Boys season 4. The costume is not only accurate but also set up like an action shot of Starlight using her powers to blast light energy from her hands.

Moriarty revealed that Starlight’s character arc in The Boys season 4 will pay off what has already been established in the story. Though the show has been entertaining, it has shown reluctance in making any sweeping changes. However, Starlight has increasingly questioned the tactics of Butcher and even Hughie. It is possible that the upcoming episodes will give this brewing conflict more focus, forcing Starlight to choose a side or even strike out on her own. Her powers have grown to the point where she could be a real threat to Vought International, as portrayed in the Starlight cosplay.

To move the drama forward, The Boys will need to make the difficult decision of which members of its large ensemble to let go and which others should stick around for the endgame. The cast fit well into their roles, inspiring elaborate cosplays and even some divisive support for characters like Homelander.

Detailed cosplay of Starlight looks like something out of a video game for The Boys. Introduced in the debut episode of the Prime Video series, Annie January (played by Erin Moriarty) was the audience’s surrogate into the world of The Seven and how terrible many of its supposed heroes really are. In addition to Moriarty’s performance, that framing immediately endeared Annie to viewers. And in time, under the moniker Starlight, the character’s unique powers would prove formidable.

In general comments about The Boys season 4, which has been filmed, but does not currently have a release date, Moriarty indicated that her character has a satisfying arc that will pay off what has already been established in the story. Although it remains entertaining, the Prime Video show has shown reluctance when it comes to making any sweeping changes. The battle against Homelander, for instance, has been happening since the show’s earliest episodes without major changes to the status quo.

The same is true of Annie. Though she rightly loathes the likes of Homelander and The Deep, she’s increasingly questioned the tactics of Butcher and even Hughie. It could be the case that the upcoming episodes will give this brewing conflict more focus, forcing Starlight to choose a side or even more likely to strike out on her own. As portrayed in the Starlight cosplay, her powers have grown to the point where she could be a real threat to Vought International.

Part of the enviable problem that The Boys has is that the cast fit well into their roles, inspiring elaborate cosplays and even some divisive support for characters like Homelander. But in order for the drama to truly move forward, it has to make the difficult decision of which members of its large ensemble to let go and which others should stick around for the endgame.
