Diablo 4 Update Finally Fixes Druid Loot Bug

In Diablo 4, Druid players can finally breathe a sigh of relief as the issue of receiving Unique items meant for other classes has been resolved. While the developers at Blizzard have been busy addressing several issues since the launch of Diablo 4, a few bugs have confused and frustrated the player base. The loot bug, which caused Druid players to receive Barbarian Unique weapons, was particularly vexing. Although Druids were technically able to equip these items, the Legendary Aspect tethered to each weapon was unusable.

Other classes in Diablo 4 enjoyed a carefree grind to endgame, whereas Druids had to worry about potentially “wasting” a Legendary drop on a Unique not meant for them. Although Barbarian players had to endure not having their best Legendary Aspects available at launch due to unforeseen exploits, Druids were actively penalized for playing their class for an extended time span.

Fortunately, Blizzard Entertainment has finally resolved the issue in Hotfix 12 for Diablo 4. Ancient’s Oath, Hellhammer, and Overkill will no longer drop for Druid players. Those who have the Barbarian weapons equipped will be able to keep them, but un-equipping them will render them unusable. With virtually no chance of the glitch recurring in the future, some players may choose to retire their Druids with Barbarian weapons to preserve their uniqueness.

Other fixes from the update include improved stability and performance, hopefully reducing the stutter that some Diablo 4 players experience while traveling through the Regions of Sanctuary. Additionally, Sorcerer players in Diablo 4 can now apply the bonus damage from Combustion accordingly. However, it is highly likely that Sorcerers will need a far broader buff to measure up with the other classes at endgame. Relying on using three Defensive skills for any endgame Sorcerer build, with Ice Shard being the only viable Core skill, is simply not fun.

Although Season 1 is on the horizon, the majority of features that improve the quality of life in Diablo 4 are scheduled to arrive with Season 2. As promised during the Campfire Chat on June 16, Resistances will be adjusted to become viable at endgame, and gems will become crafting materials with auto-loot support. However, the larger issues of inventory management and itemization will take some time to fix. For now, at least, all five Diablo 4 classes will have equal opportunities the next time a shiny Legendary item drops on the ground.

In terms of gameplay fixes, the Barbarian Unique weapons “Overkill,” “Hellhammer,” and “Ancient’s Oath” will no longer drop for Druid players. However, Druid players with these weapons already equipped will still be able to use them, but they will not be able to re-equip them if removed from their weapon slot. These uniques will no longer be available for Druid players to use moving forward.

Diablo 4 is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.

Druids in Diablo 4 can breathe a sigh of relief, as they will no longer be receiving Unique items from other classes by accident. Though the developers at Blizzard have had their hands full of addressing several issues since the launch of Diablo 4a few bugs have quite confused and frustrated the playerbase as the loot bug which accidentally caused Druid players to receive Barbarian Unique weapons. While Druids were capable of equipping these items, the Legendary Aspect tethered to each weapon was unusable.
