Director Arindam Bhattacharya is ready to commence filming for his upcoming Bengali feature film, Durgapur Junction, which stars Swastika Mukherjee and Vikram Chatterjee. The film is set against the backdrop of Durgapur, an industrial town, and aims to uncover the mysteries surrounding a series of serial killings.
The first look of the investigative drama Durgapur Junction
A journalist and a young, strong-willed police officer struggle to delve deep into the mystery. The film will be shot in Durgapur, Bolpur, and Calcutta throughout June and July and is scheduled for release in winter 2023. Swastika Mukherjee portrays the journalist, while Vikram Chatterjee plays the police officer.
The film also features Ekavali Khanna, Rajdeep Sarkar, and Pradip Dhar. Prosenjit Chowdhury serves as the DoP. According to Arindam, “For a long time, I had wanted to make a film where I could show the investigation process in detail. Durgapur Junction is that film, which is based on a true story.”
