Fans urge ‘1000-Lb. Sisters’ star Amy Slaton to stop using filters
Fans are urging “1000-Lb. Sisters” star Amy Slaton to refrain from using filters on social media.
Earlier this week, the reality star shared a TikTok video of herself sitting in the car wearing a pink Barbie-adorned T-shirt, set to the tune of Nicki Minaj and Ice Spice’s new single “Barbie World.”
In the clip, which played on a loop, Slaton’s face was heavily edited, giving her bright rosy cheeks.
While many fans praised the TLC star’s beauty after her significant weight loss, others felt that she should embrace a more natural look online.
“You don’t need all those filters, stay true to yourself and who you are,” one person wrote.
“Please Amy, don’t use filters like your sister does. You’re already beautiful without posting fake pictures,” another added.

Despite the opinions of others, Slaton appears to be in good spirits, especially after losing over 125 pounds.
During Season 1 of “1000-Lb. Sisters,” which premiered in January 2020, Slaton weighed over 400 pounds.
After undergoing gastric bypass surgery, she lost an additional 136 pounds, bringing her current weight to 275 pounds.
While Slaton’s health has improved, her love life has taken a hit.
In March 2023, her husband, Michael Halterman, filed for divorce from the reality star in Union County, Ky., according to court records seen by TheFantasyTimes at the time.
According to Us Weekly, Halterman, 40, requested that the court issue a restraining order that would keep both parties at least 500 feet apart at all times and prevent them from making any public statements or social media posts about each other.
