Fight Forever Showcases Full Launch Roster

Yuke’s, the former WWE video game developer, has finally released the full roster for its highly anticipated arcade-style wrestling game, AEW: Fight Forever. The launch roster features a mix of legends, current stars, and even one wrestler who has since gone back to WWE. Unlike the WWE 2K series, which boasts a large launch roster, Fight Forever emphasizes a throwback, arcade-style experience similar to classics like WWF No Mercy and WCW/nWo Revenge, and as a result, it has a smaller launch roster with some notable omissions. However, DLC packs will be available in the future to add more wrestlers.

Fight Forever was first announced in November 2020 as the debut title from AEW Games. AEW star Kenny Omega stated that the game is intended to be reminiscent of beloved titles from the late 90s, with easy-to-pick-up gameplay and various mini-games to enjoy on top of the selection of match types. The game’s release date was confirmed for June 29, 2023, following AEW’s crossover pay-per-view with New Japan Pro Wrestling, the Forbidden Door.

AEW has been showcasing the many modes and match types players will be able to enjoy in the game, including the Casino Battle Royal and Exploding Barbed-Wire Deathmatch. However, the final launch roster was only seen in gameplay videos and individual showcases until now. The latest post on AEW Games’ Twitter confirms that there will be a roster of 51 wrestlers and one referee available at launch.
