Gavin Rossdale and Gwen Stefani have different parenting styles and don’t co-parent their three children together. In a recent interview with the “Not So Hollywood” podcast, Rossdale explained that they are “really different” people with opposing views.
He stated that they choose to parent separately rather than co-parent. Rossdale believes that their different approaches to parenting can give their children a unique perspective and allow them to choose which pieces of their parents’ lives they want to inherit and move forward with.

While Rossdale and Stefani generally keep quiet about their co-parenting, he did shed some light on the situation in April 2020 during the pandemic. He referred to it as a “real big dilemma for parents and kids with split custody” and called it a “tricky one.” Despite their differences, Rossdale and Stefani do the best they can for their children and manage to get them to school on time and feed them.

The Bush frontman told “Not So Hollywood” podcast listeners Thursday that he and his ex-wife are “really different” people with “opposing views.”
The 57-year-old explained, “I think you can go one of two ways. You can either do everything together and really co-parent and see how that goes, or you can just parent. And I think we just parent.”
While Rossdale doesn’t “think there’s much similarity” in the way he and the former No Doubt member choose to bring up Kingston, 17, Zuma, 14, and Apollo, 9, he doesn’t view that negatively.
“That gives them an incredible perspective to then choose which pieces of those two lives they’d like to inherit and move on with and which part of themselves come out of the whole process,” he said.
“What’s important is to give them a wide view of things,” the guitarist, who is also the father of 34-year-old daughter Daisy, continued. “I think it’d be really helpful for them to make their own minds as individuals.”

The “Hollaback Girl” singer, 53, married Rossdale in 2002, with the duo calling it quits 13 years later.

Since the former couple finalized their divorce in 2016, Stefani has remarried her fellow “Voice” judge Blake Shelton.
She and Rossdale generally keep quiet about their co-parenting, but he did shed light on their dynamic in April 2020.
The musician called the coronavirus pandemic a “real big dilemma for parents and kids with split custody” in a SiriusXM’s “Trunk Nation” interview, adding, “It’s a tricky one.”
The previous year, he told Us Weekly that he and Stefani do “the best” they can.
“[Our kids] are doing really good,” Rossdale gushed in May 2019. “They’re really happy, and that’s it. … We both manage to feed them and get them to school on time, more or less!”
