How To Find (& Beat) Carrot In Final Fantasy 16

Once players have made progress in the main story of Final Fantasy 16, they will have the opportunity to face off against formidable enemies from the Hunt Board. This set of bounties presents dangerous creatures, including a formidable Morbol named Carrot. Despite its innocent-sounding name, Carrot is a violent behemoth that sprays acid and can be quite challenging to defeat. However, if Clive manages to overcome this beast, there are several rare items and rewards up for grabs.

The Hunt Board becomes available to players after they complete the main story quest “The Gathering Storm.” Carrot appears as part of the “Please Sir, Can I Have Some Morbol” side quest. Similar to the Mageth Brothers in Final Fantasy 16, Hunt Board quests often require players to gather information from various NPCs before they become accessible. In Clive’s case, he must speak to head botanist Nigel to learn about the Morbol Tendril needed to add Carrot to the Hunt Board.

To locate and defeat Carrot in Final Fantasy 16, players must speak with Nectar at the Hunt Board. They will receive a quest to take on Carrot, who can be found in The Whispering Waters area on the map, classified as a B Rank Hunt. Heading towards Rosaria and the obelisk near the Three Reeds will lead players to a northwestern path where they will encounter the Morbol. Players may find the boss fight against Carrot reminiscent of the beginning of the game, where a younger Clive faced off against the Akashic Morbol.

The Carrot B Rank Hunt is recommended for players at level 35, indicating the level they should be at when attempting this quest. Carrot retains all the moves seen in the previous Morbol fight, but with enhanced variants that deal more damage. Its attacks include bites from its large mouth, powerful tentacle strikes, and special named attacks that make Carrot far more dangerous than expected in Final Fantasy 16.

Carrot’s move list includes the signature Morbol attack called “Worse Breath,” where Carrot sprays a toxic miasma from its mouth towards Clive, inflicting significant damage. It also utilizes an attack called “Acid Rain,” where it launches puddles of black sludge into the air, which then settle into large pools around the arena. Standing in these toxic locations causes damage to any member of the player’s party. Additionally, Carrot can dig into the ground and surprise Clive with a diving attack known as “Burrow,” which creates a large shockwave AoE, making it challenging to evade.

To effectively combat the plant monster Carrot, players should utilize fire damage from Eikon abilities, which deal pure damage in Final Fantasy 16. Investing skill points into the Phoenix or Ifrit skill trees can enhance the effectiveness of these attacks. Defeating Carrot rewards players with a Morbol Tendril, allowing them to complete the previous side quest. Furthermore, players who successfully defeat Carrot in Final Fantasy 16 will earn XP, ability points, renown, and a valuable Morbol Flower that can be used to craft different gear.

Final Fantasy 16 is part of the popular Final Fantasy franchise and is available on the PlayStation 5. It was released on June 22, 2023, and developed by Square Enix Creative Business Unit 3, with Square Enix serving as the publisher. The game falls under the genres of JRPG, Hack and Slash, and Action, and is rated M by the ESRB. The estimated time to complete the game is 70-80 hours. It is a sequel to Final Fantasy 15.

After getting through parts of the main story of Final Fantasy 16players have a chance to beat enemies from the Hunt Board, a set of bounties against dangerous creatures, including a poisonous Morbol called Carrot. Players shouldn’t let the innocent name fool them; Carrot is a violent, acid-spraying behemoth that can be tough to take down. However, if Clive can defeat this beast, several rare items and rewards are available for doing so.
