How to Get Jackie’s Motorcycle
Cyberpunk 2077 has undergone significant changes since its initial release, although there are still some issues that need to be addressed. However, the game offers players a vast and immersive experience in Night City. During their exploration of this open-world dystopian metropolis, players will need a reliable mode of transportation. One of the most emotionally charged and visually distinctive options available is Jackie’s motorcycle, which can be obtained in Cyberpunk 2077.
Updated as of July 3rd, 2023 by Jacob Buchalter, Cyberpunk 2077’s upcoming DLC expansion, Phantom Liberty, is set to be released in September. As a result, players have been revisiting their old save files, starting new ones, or simply taking a look at the changes that have been made to the game since its launch. While Cyberpunk 2077 faced significant issues upon release and in the following months, the development team has demonstrated their dedication to improving the game and has consistently followed through on their commitment. Given the substantial changes that have already been made and those that are yet to come, one might wonder if obtaining Jackie’s Motorcycle is any different now.
Obtaining Jackie’s ARCH, also known as the Arch Nazare, depends on the choices made regarding Jackie’s body after the chaotic Heist of Konpeki Plaza mission. Although most players are likely grieving the loss of their friend and are not primarily concerned with maximizing rewards, it is worth considering the two available options.
Option 1: Sending Jackie Home
Choosing this option involves sending Jackie’s body home to his family or leaving it in the Delamain Cab for V to collect after the Heist. Shortly after, players will receive a message from Mama Welles, also known as Guadalupe Alejandra Welles, who is Jackie’s mother. Mama Welles informs V about a memorial, or ofrenda, that she will be hosting for Jackie. Players can attend this event by visiting El Coyote Cojo, the family’s bar. This marks the beginning of the side mission called “Heroes,” with Jackie’s Bike as the reward. Upon reaching the bar and conversing with Mama Welles, V will receive the key to Jackie’s garage, located just outside El Coyote Cojo. Outside the garage, players will encounter Jackie’s girlfriend, Misty, the owner of Misty’s Esoterica. They will engage in a heartfelt conversation with Misty and search for an offering to present at Jackie’s ofrenda. If V returns to Mama Welles’ bar and the ofrenda table at least a day after the ceremony, they can acquire Jackie’s dual pistols, the La Chingona Dorada, from the ofrenda. These pistols are variants of the Tsunami Nue pistol and are considered iconic weapons. V can choose to persuade Misty to join them in searching the garage for an offering before entering. Exploring Jackie’s possessions reveals touching moments that shed light on his character. Eventually, players must make a choice regarding which item to select, although this decision does not impact their ability to obtain Jackie’s Bike. Afterward, V can choose to invite Misty to the ofrenda and even stand up for her against Mama Welles during the ceremony. Once these steps are completed, V can speak with Mama Welles again. During the conversation, she will offer V the keys to Jackie’s motorcycle. Accepting the keys grants players access to the motorcycle for the remainder of the game.
Option 2: Sending Jackie to Viktor
Alternatively, if V chooses to send Jackie’s body to Viktor Vektor, the outcome remains the same. Mama Welles will text V, time will pass, and then V will acquire the ARCH. However, this option lacks the sentimental aspects present in the first option. There is no ofrenda, no reminiscing with Misty about Jackie, and no ceremony honoring him. Instead, players receive a text from Mama Welles informing them that she found something of Jackie’s that he would want them to have, and the bike will be waiting for them in front of the apartment complex. If players visit Viktor’s Clinic and inquire about Jackie’s body, they will discover that Arasaka followed the cab, apprehended Viktor, and stole Jackie’s body for interrogation. This revelation highlights the darker aspects of the cyberpunk setting of Night City.
Furthermore, during the setup for the final mission, players can choose to accept Hanako’s assistance. If they do so, they will have the opportunity to converse with a version of “Jackie” whose consciousness was uploaded to the Mikoshi after Arasaka took his remains. This conversation is comparable in quality to the ofrenda, but it possesses a more cyberpunk and nihilistic tone. The Net version of Jackie clarifies that he is not the true Jackie but rather a copy of his final memories and some remaining fragments. This interaction showcases the harsh and depressing nature of Night City.
Additionally, there is a way to obtain a modified version of Jackie’s motorcycle, but it requires specific prerequisites. Players must have chosen the “Nomad” lifepath for their character. During the mission “The Pickup,” where V meets with Jackie outside the All Food Plant on his Arch, there will be a dialogue option specific to Nomads. Selecting this option and subsequently choosing a dialogue option that requires at least 6 points in Technical Ability suggests that Jackie should make some modifications to his bike. If both of these dialogue choices are made, the next time players encounter Jackie’s bike, regardless of their decision regarding his body, it will have four tailpipes instead of two. However, this is the only difference between the two versions of the bike, as all other stats remain the same.
In conclusion, Cyberpunk 2077 has evolved significantly since its release, and players now have the opportunity to obtain Jackie’s Motorcycle through different paths. The game’s DLC expansion, Phantom Liberty, further adds to the evolving nature of the game. Whether players choose to send Jackie’s body home or to Viktor, they can experience poignant moments and explore the depths of Jackie’s character. This unique motorcycle serves as a symbol of their connection to Jackie and their journey through Night City.
Cyberpunk 2077 is a very different game than it was on release, though there are still plenty of problems to be fixed. That said, the game does offer players plenty to explore and uncover throughout Night City. And, while adventuring around this open-world dystopian concrete jungle, V is going to need some wheels.
And, one of the more emotional and visually distinct options has to be Jackie’s motorcycle that players can obtain in Cyberpunk 2077.
Updated July 3rd, 2023 by Jacob Buchalter: With Cyberpunk 2077’s large DLC expansion, Phantom Liberty, coming later this year in September, people have started to go back to their old save files, start new ones, or just take a peek at all the changes made to the game since its release. While Cyberpunk 2077 had major issues on launch and for a while after, the development team showed that they were willing to put the work in to improve the game and have been following up on that dedication ever since. So, now that Cyberpunk 2077 has changed so much and is about to change so more, is getting Jackie’s Motorcycle any different?
Getting Jackie’s ARCH Known As The Arch Nazare
There are two ways to get this motorcycleand both of them are dependent on the choice V makes about where to send Jackie’s body after the absolute mess of a mission that was the Heist of Konpeki Plaza. Granted, most players are reeling from the loss of their friend and aren’t really concerned with ‘min-maxing’ the usage of his body for better rewards, but the two options are still worth keeping in mind.
Option 1: Send Jackie Home
This is the result of sending Jackie’s body home to his family or leaving it in the Delamain Cab to wait for V after the Heist. Shortly thereafter, players will receive a message from Mama Welles AKA Guadalupe Alejandra Welles. If it wasn’t already obvious, Mama Welles is Jackie’s mother, and her message tells V to give her a call. Call her, and she informs the player that she’ll be hosting an ofrenda (essentially a memorial) for Jackie, which the player can attend by visiting El Coyote Cojo, the family’s bar. This is the start of the Side Mission called ‘Heroes’ with Jackie’s Bike as the reward.
After reaching the bar and chatting with her a bit, Mama Welles will give V the key to Jackie’s garage, which is just outside El Coyote Cojo. Sitting outside of the garage, players will find Jackie’s girlfriend, Misty, who they’ll recognize as the owner of Misty’s Esoterica (think Tarot Cards) which Viktor’s Ripperdoc Clinic is in the basement of. Players will then have a heart-to-heart conversation with Jackie’s girlfriend, Misty, and search for an offering, which they’ll later present at Jackie’s ofrenda.
If V returns to the ofrenda table in Mama Welles bar at least a day after the ceremony, they can grab his dual pistols off the ofrenda, the La Chingona Dorada. These are variants of the Tsunami Nue pistol, and while the ‘two’ pistols are only one item and V can only use one of them at a time, they’re Iconic weapons and well worth using.
They can choose to convince Misty to join them in looking through the garage for an offering or not before heading in. There are a lot of sweet moments here to be seen while looking at the person Jackie was through his possessions, but eventually, players will have to make a choice as to what item to choose. Don’t worry, the choice won’t affect V getting Jackie’s Bike or not. Before heading out, V can choose to convince Misty to come to the ofrenda or not, and they can even choose at the ofrenda to stand up for Misty against Mama Welles after speaking (or not) during the ceremony.
Once that’s complete, talk to Mama Welles again. During the conversation, she’ll offer V the keys to Jackie’s motorcycleaccept the keys, and players will have the motorcycle at their disposal for the rest of the game.
Option 2: Send Jackie To Viktor
On the other hand, if V sends Jackie’s body to Viktor Vektorthe end result is the same, Mama Welles texts V, time passes, and then V gets the ARCH, but it’s much less sentimental. There’s no ofrenda, no reminiscing with Misty about Jackie and the things he loves, and no ceremony honoring him. Instead, players just get a text from Mama Welles saying she found something of Jackie’s that he would want them to have, then the bike is just there waiting for them in front of the apartment complex. However, if they then go to Viktor’s Clinic and ask him about Jackie’s body, they’ll find out what actually happened. Apparently, Arasaka followed the cab back, pinned Viktor down, and stole Jackie’s body altogether to ‘interrogate the dead’. Turns out a cyberpunk setting doesn’t just mean cool cyborgs and neon lights.
Then, long after, in the setup for the final mission of the story, players can choose to take Hanako’s help. If they do, they’ll be able to speak with ‘Jackie’ whose mind was uploaded to the Mikoshi after Arasaka took his remains. This conversation is relatively on par with the ofrenda in terms of quality, but it’s a bit more cyberpunk (meaning nihilistic). This version of Jackie in the Net makes it clear in just a couple of lines that he’s not ‘actually’ Jackie, more like a copy of his last memory and some other remaining fragments. It’s tough and depressing, but that’s just Night City.
How To Get Jackie’s ‘Tuned’ ARCH Motorcycle
Now, there’s actually a way to get a modified version of this motorcycle as well, but it has some pretty specific requirements. First, players will need to have picked the ‘Nomad’ lifepath for their character. Then, during ‘The Pickup’ where V meets with Jackie outside the All Food Plant on his Arch, there should be a Nomad-specific dialogue option during their conversation. Pick this option, and then another dialogue option that requires at least 6 points in Technical Ability appears, suggesting that Jackie should make some changes to his bike.
If both of these dialogue choices are selected, then the next time they’ll see Jackie’s bike, regardless of their decision on what to do with his body, it will have four tailpipes instead of two. That said, this is the only difference between the two versions of this bike, at least for now, as every other stat is exactly the same as the default variation.
Cyberpunk 2077 is available now for PC, PS4, PS5, Stadia, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X.
