How to Shake Hands After a Match in AEW Fight Forever

AEW Fight Forever incorporates various intricate details, including bailouts, corner recoils, technician skills, and chain wrestling, making it an incredibly enjoyable wrestling game. Another fantastic addition to the gameplay is the option to shake hands with your opponent after a match. This feature can be utilized in both single-player and multiplayer modes, whether playing locally or online. To initiate a handshake after emerging victorious, follow these steps:

1. Select a 1-on-1 exhibition match, ensuring that neither wrestler holds a title belt. Please note that this feature is not compatible with Ladder Matches, Barbed Wire Matches, or tag team matches.
2. Win the match to trigger the post-match event.
3. After winning, click the R-stick or press the spacebar on your keyboard.
4. You will have a limited time to approach your opponent and extend your hand for a handshake.
5. To execute the handshake, lift your opponent from the mat using the RB button on Xbox, R1 on PlayStation, R on the Switch, or the R button on your keyboard.
6. With both wrestlers standing, hold down the Grapple Guard button, which is LB on Xbox, L1 on PlayStation, L on the Switch, or the F button on your keyboard.
7. Your wrestler will extend their hand, ready for a handshake.
8. Walk towards your opponent while maintaining the Grapple Guard button until they accept the handshake.
9. This will trigger a brief cutscene showcasing the wrestlers shaking hands. However, be aware that certain rule-breaking wrestlers like MJF may extend their hand only to attack your wrestler instead.

For those inclined towards unsportsmanlike conduct, AEW Fight Forever also allows players to forgo the handshake and launch an attack on their opponent instead. Follow these steps to do so:

1. Opt for a 1-on-1 exhibition match. Please note that this feature is not compatible with tag team matches or gimmick matches.
2. Upon winning the match, click the R-stick or press the spacebar on your keyboard.
3. You will then have a limited time to initiate an attack on your opponent after the bell.
4. Alternatively, you can fake the handshake and immediately attack by first pressing the Grapple Guard button, followed by a strike or grapple move.

Unfortunately, unlike in WWE 2K23, this action does not trigger a feud. Nonetheless, it adds a nice touch to the gameplay, which can be utilized in both single-player and multiplayer matches.

AEW Fight Forever is currently available for PC, PS4, PS5, Switch, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S.

  • Use a 1-on-1 match in an exhibition. It doesn’t work with tag teams and gimmick matches.
  • After winning the bout, click the R-stick or press the spacebar on the keyboard.
  • Players now have a time limit to attack the wrestler after the bell.
  • Or, fake the handshake and attack instead by pressing the Grapple Guard followed by a strike or grapple.
