“I Could Have Never Made Welcome 3 Without Nana Patekar and Anil Kapoor,” Says Anees Bazmee —
Anees Bazmee, the director of Welcome (2007) and Welcome Back (2015), believes that Nana and Anil are indispensable to the Welcome franchise. He maintains that Nana Patekar’s Uday Bhai and Anil Kapoor’s Majnu Bhai cannot be replaced, and he would have never proceeded with Welcome 3 without them.
During an interview with Aaj Tak, Anees Bazmee expressed, “If I were helming Welcome 3, it would have been inconceivable to proceed without them. I cannot envision a Welcome film without Nana Patekar and Anil Kapoor. Both characters have become iconic. Even today, videos featuring them circulate on social media. They are both integral to the franchise.”
Firoz Nadiadwala’s Welcome 3 is being directed by Ahmed Khan and features a star-studded cast including Akshay Kumar, Sanjay Dutt, Paresh Rawal, Arshad Warsi, Disha Patani, Jacqueline Fernandez, Raveena Tandon, Rajpal Yadav, Suniel Shetty, Tusshar Kapoor, Shreyas Talpade, Krushna Abhishek, Kiku Sharda, Daler Mehndi, Mika Singh, Rahul Dev, Mukesh Tiwari, Sharib Hashmi, Inaamulhaq, Zakir Hussain, and Yashpal Sharma.
Welcome 3 was announced with an all-new cast just a few days ago. The first two films of the Welcome franchise have been known for the memorable characters of Nana Patekar and Anil Kapoor. Unfortunately, we won’t be seeing these two in the third film.
Anees Bazmee, who directed Welcome (2007) and Welcome Back (2015), thinks that the Welcome franchise is incomplete without Nana and Anil. He believes that Nana Patekar’s Uday Bhai and Anil Kapoor’s Majnu Bhai are irreplaceable, and he would have never made Welcome 3 without them.
Speaking to Aaj Tak, Anees Bazmee shared, “If I were directing Welcome 3, I could have never made it without them. I couldn’t imagine a Welcome film without Nana Patekar and Anil Kapoor. Both characters have been iconic. Even today, some videos related to them are seen on social media. Both of them have been important characters.”
