I touched sex assault accuser in ‘romantic’ way
Kevin Spacey is currently facing trial in London for alleged sexual assault against four men. During his testimony on Thursday, Spacey claimed that he had simply touched one of his accusers in a “romantic” manner. According to CNN, Spacey described the accuser as funny, charming, and flirtatious, and stated that their interactions gradually became more romantic and intimate over time. He also admitted to being a big flirt.
Spacey asserted that the relationship was consensual and explained that although it became more sexual, they never had sex because the accuser made it clear that he did not want to go any further. He expressed respect for the accuser’s boundaries and stated that such situations can occur in relationships. Spacey also mentioned that he liked the accuser a lot and that they had a good time together, laughing frequently.
However, the accuser does not share the same sentiments towards Spacey. According to NBC, the accuser accused Spacey of grabbing his crotch while he was driving and attempting to groom him. Spacey, feeling betrayed, stated in court that he never expected someone he knew to stab him in the back 20 years later.
In June, prosecutors referred to Spacey as a “sexual bully” during the trial. Attorney Christine Agnew described him as a man who lacks respect for personal boundaries and enjoys making others feel powerless and uncomfortable. She claimed that his preferred method of assault is aggressively grabbing other men in the crotch.
Spacey was charged in June 2022 for allegedly assaulting the four men during his time as the artistic director of London’s Old Vic theater between 2004 and 2015. The victims, who are now in their 30s and 40s, reportedly did not know each other but all had the misfortune of attracting Spacey’s attention.
Spacey has pleaded not guilty to all 12 charges, which include counts of indecent assault, sexual assault, causing a person to engage in sexual activity without consent, and causing a person to engage in penetrative sexual activity without consent. He has denied the allegations and expressed confidence in proving his innocence in court. The trial is expected to continue for two more weeks.
Kevin Spacey — who is on trial in London for allegedly sexually assaulting four men — testified Thursday that he simply touched one of his accusers in a “romantic” way.
“He was funny and charming and flirtatious; over time we began … I’m assuming it was me … began to touch him in more romantic and intimate ways,” the “House of Cards” alum, 63, told the court, according to CNN.
He then added, “I’m a big flirt.”
Spacey, who claims he and the unidentified man were together consensually, also detailed how the relationship allegedly evolved.
“Slowly over time it became more sexual, but to be clear, we never had sex because he made it clear he didn’t want to go any farther … and that happens sometimes with people, and I respect that,” the “American Beauty” star testified, per NBC.

Spacey went on to say that he liked his accuser “a lot,” adding, “We had a good time together. We laughed a lot.”
However, the alleged victim does not share the same feelings toward the Oscar winner.
The man, whose anonymity is protected under English law, reportedly called Spacey a “sexual predator” during an earlier testimony.

He claimed the “Usual Suspects” star once grabbed his crotch while he was driving and tried to groom him, according to NBC.
However, Spacey feels betrayed by his accuser, telling the court, “I never thought that [the man] I knew would … 20 years later stab me in the back.”
In late June, prosecutors slammed the “LA Confidential” star, calling him a “sexual bully.”

“A man who does not respect personal boundaries or space, a man who it would seem delights in making others feel powerless and uncomfortable — a sexual bully,” attorney Christine Agnew said at the time.
“His preferred method of assault is, it appears, to grab aggressively other men in the crotch.”
