Injured Jofra Archer out of IPL 2023: The English fast bowler Chris Jordan will play for the Mumbai Indians for the rest of the IPL 2023. MI said in a statement on Tuesday, May 9, that Jordan has been brought in to replace Jofra Archer, who is out with an injury. Archer “will go home to focus on his recovery,” the team said.
Chris Jordan, who plays for England with Jofra Archer, has been brought in by the Mumbai Indians as a replacement for Archer. Jordan is Archer’s friend.
Injured Jofra Archer out of IPL 2023

Archer’s season has been short and full of ups and downs. He returned to international cricket earlier this year after a long injury break. He was supposed to be ready for the whole season, and Mumbai’s 28-year-old played in the team’s first game. However, he missed the next four games because his elbow hurt.
Jofra Archer played five matches and took two wickets for MI in the 2023 IPL (BCCI). Because of the injury, he kept coming in and out of the starting lineup and had to fly to Belgium for a small operation.
Now, Archer is going to fly back to England, where the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) will keep a close eye on his recovery. “Pushing through the pain while playing recently in the hopes that it would go away has been hard,” the ECB said in a news release. “Because of this, it was decided that he should go back to the UK to rest and get better. This will give him the best chance of making a full recovery.”
“Archer will go back to the UK this week and work on his recovery with the ECB medical department and Sussex County Cricket Club, respectively.”
Jordan, who played for Chennai Super Kings last year, is getting ready to play for his fifth IPL team. Jordan has also played for Royal Challengers Bangalore, Punjab Kings, and Sunrisers Hyderabad in addition to CSK.
So far, the English player has taken 27 wickets in 28 IPL games. Jordan was bought for INR 2 Crore, and the five-time winners hope that he will bring stability to Mumbai’s death bowling, which has been a big worry this season.
The 28-year-old, on the other hand, has only played in five of Mumbai Indians’ ten games this season. Last month, he allegedly had a minor operation on his troublesome right elbow.
On June 16, the Ashes match against Australia will start at Edgbaston.
“Archer has been getting better after surgery on his right arm. But it’s been hard to play through the pain while hoping it will go away while playing lately. So, it was decided that he would go back to the UK to rest and get better. This would give him the best chance of making a full recovery, the England and Wales Cricket Board said in a press statement.
In a statement, IPL officials said that Archer’s England teammate Chris Jordan would take his place at Mumbai. It didn’t say much about how badly Archer was hurt.
Five-time winners Mumbai announced on Twitter that Chris Jordan will join their team for the rest of the season.
“Chris takes the place of Jofra Archer, whose recovery and fitness are still being watched by the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB).”
“Jofra will go back home to work on his recovery.”
In addition to the Ashes, England will be worried about whether or not the player from Barbados will be available when they try to defend their 50-overs World Cup title in India at the end of the year.
Jordan played in the IPL for the first time in 2016 with Royal Challengers Bangalore. He has also played for Sunrisers Hyderabad, Punjab Kings, and Chennai Super Kings.
Jordan will join Mumbai for Rs 2 crore ($244,558). In December, when the players were auctioned off, he did not get bought.
