Jamie Lynn Spears’ daughter Maddie ‘affected’ by Britney feud
Jamie Lynn Spears became emotional as she shared the impact of her feud with her sister, Britney Spears, on herself and her children, particularly her eldest daughter, 15-year-old Maddie.
“I have nothing but immense love for every member of my family,” Jamie Lynn told Variety in a recent interview when asked about her current relationship with her pop star sister.
“After everything I went through last year, being so transparent and feeling the need to defend myself at times, I don’t think there’s anything more I need to say,” she continued.
“I believe those conversations should remain personal. Right now, my focus is on my daughters, my husband, and the work I’m doing.”
As tears welled up in her eyes, the 32-year-old actress and songwriter expressed her sadness about the topic.

“I don’t want my daughter to feel that way. I refuse to let my children, especially my oldest daughter who was greatly affected by it all, experience such emotions in their lives,” said Jamie Lynn, who is also the mother of 5-year-old daughter Ivey, whom she shares with her husband, Jamie Watson.
“My strength comes from the love I have for my children and my desire to ensure that I remain true to myself and what I believe in.”
The “Zoey 101” star added, “It was a difficult journey, but I have come a long way since then.”

Jamie Lynn and 41-year-old Britney have been estranged ever since the pop star accused her younger sister of being involved in her allegedly abusive conservatorship, which lasted for nearly 14 years until a Los Angeles judge terminated it in November 2021.
The topic resurfaced in Jamie Lynn’s memoir, “Things I Should Have Said,” published in January 2022. In the book, she asserted that she had always supported Britney and protected her until recently when Britney decided she no longer needed her protection and exposed her to the media.

Following their public feud on social media, Britney did not invite Jamie Lynn to her wedding with Sam Asghari in June 2022.
Then, last month, the Grammy winner surprised her fans by claiming she had visited the set of the “Zoey 102” film sequel.

“It was wonderful to visit my sister on set last week!!! I missed you all so much!!!” Britney wrote on Instagram. “Loyal girls stay home, but it’s lovely to visit family 😌!!!”
During her interview with Variety, Jamie Lynn neither confirmed nor denied Britney’s account. However, a source close to the former Nickelodeon star informed the outlet that the two sisters have not reconciled.
“It just breaks my heart when I think about my kids,” Jamie Lynn said emotionally. “I never want them to experience pain or scrutiny. It’s unnecessary, and it’s not their burden to bear. So I’ll carry it. That’s fine.”
Jamie Lynn Spears teared up as she revealed how her feud with Britney Spears impacted her and her children — specifically, her eldest daughter, 15-year-old Maddie.
“I have nothing but absolute love for every single one of my family members,” Jamie Lynn told Variety in an interview published Wednesday when asked about the status of her relationship with her pop star sister.
“If I learned anything from last year, being so open and feeling like I had to defend myself at times, I don’t feel like there’s anything else that I need to say,” she continued.
“I just have to leave it where it is because those conversations are meant to be personal. All I can focus on now is my girls, my husband and the work that I’m doing.”
As her eyes welled up, the actress and songwriter, 32, admitted that the topic makes her “sad.”

“I don’t want my daughter to feel that way. So I have to say I will absolutely not allow my children — especially my oldest daughter, who was very affected by all of it — I will not allow her to feel this way in her life,” said Jamie Lynn, who is also mom to 5-year-old daughter Ivey, whom she shares with her husband, Jamie Watson.
“My strength is out of the love for my children and wanting to make sure that I don’t give way to anything other than what I know to be authentic and true.”
The “Zoey 101” star added, “It was hard, but at the end of the day, look where I am now.”

Jamie Lynn and Britney, 41, have been estranged since the latter accused her younger sibling of being complicit in her allegedly abusive conservatorship, under which Britney remained for almost 14 years until a Los Angeles judge terminated the legal arrangement in November 2021.
The subject reared its ugly head in Jamie Lynn’s January 2022 memoir, “Things I Should Have Said,” in which she insisted she “only ever had [Britney’s] back” growing up, writing, “I continued to protect her until just recently, when she decided I didn’t need protecting and threw me to the proverbial media wolves.”
