Oscar-winning actress Jennifer Lawrence has expressed her willingness to play the role of Katniss Everdeen once again in the upcoming prequel for The Hunger Games series titled The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes.
During a promotional interview for her upcoming movie No Hard Feelings, Jennifer said, “Oh, my God – totally! If Katniss ever could come back into my life, 100 per cent.”
Jennifer gained immense popularity for her portrayal of the skilled archer in The Hunger Games series. The franchise consists of four movies based on Suzanne Collins’s book series of the same name. The first movie, directed by Gary Ross, was released in 2012, followed by three more movies directed by Francis Lawrence, starring Liam Hemsworth, Josh Hutcherson, Stanley Tucci, Elizabeth Banks, Donald Sutherland, and Woody Harrelson.
The prequel, The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes, features Viola Davis, Rachel Zegler, Tom Blyth, Peter Dinklage, Jason Schwartzman, and Hunter Schafer. The film revolves around Coriolanus Snow (played by Donald Sutherland in the previous films) and his rise to become the President of Panem. The movie is set to release on November 17.
Aside from The Hunger Games, Jennifer’s upcoming movie, No Hard Feelings, is a comedy in which she plays the role of an Uber driver hired by a wealthy couple (Matthew Broderick and Laura Benanti) to date and seduce their 19-year-old son (Andrew Barth Feldman). Gene Stupnitsky directs the film, which is scheduled for release on June 23.
