Jon Gosselin denies ex-wife Kate’s ‘false accusations’ that son Collin has ‘violent’ outbursts
Jon Gosselin has responded to his ex-wife Kate Gosselin’s accusations about their son Collin. In a statement provided by his representative to the U.S. Sun, Jon expressed his disbelief at Kate’s claims, calling them cruel and false. He suggested that Kate’s actions were an attempt to justify her past behavior towards Collin, which he described as horrific. Jon emphasized that a mother’s love for her child should not involve publicly attacking them.
Jon’s representative also revealed that Collin, who is now 19 years old, recently underwent an extensive background and mental evaluation in preparation for joining the US Marine Corps. The results of this evaluation, according to the representative, reflect the truth about Collin’s mental state. Jon reiterated that a mother should not attack her son to the public in another statement.
Furthermore, Jon’s representative reminded the public that Kate lost custody of Collin due to her failure to appear in court. He emphasized that a judge had awarded sole legal and physical custody of Collin to Jon. The representative alleged that Kate has not seen Collin since the sixth grade because she has been unable to control her abusive behavior towards him. He concluded by stating that Collin is currently focused on his training to become a Marine and is unable to respond to his mother’s lies.
Jon urged the public not to believe Kate’s claims, reminding them of her loss of custody of both Collin and their daughter Hannah in 2018. This defense of his son comes shortly after Kate issued a statement alleging that Collin has received psychiatric treatment due to his unpredictable and violent behavior. Kate claimed that Collin had been placed in a facility after experiencing multiple psychiatric diagnoses and inadequate treatments. She stated that emergency room doctors made the decision to admit him following an incident involving the use of a weapon.
Kate further alleged that Collin frequently displayed violent behavior towards Jon, Hannah, and others. She explained that all measures taken in their home were recommended by Collin’s medical team to ensure the safety of their family, friends, and pets. Kate described Collin as a troubled young man and revealed that she and his siblings have distanced themselves from him. Her daughter Mady also supported Kate’s claims of Collin’s violence.
In response to his mother’s allegations, Collin supported his father’s claims that he lost contact with his siblings in 2016 when his mother had him institutionalized. He suggested that his mother had created a social barrier between them by telling them a different version of events.
Collin is one of the sextuplets born to Kate and Jon and is joined by Aaden, Joel, Hannah, Alexis, and Leah, all of whom are now 19 years old. The former couple also has twin daughters, Mady and Cara, who are 22 years old. Jon revealed that he has not spoken to six of his eight children in years.
The Gosselin family gained fame through their reality TV show “Jon & Kate Plus 8,” which aired from 2007 to 2017. After ten years of marriage, Jon and Kate divorced, with Kate initially receiving full custody of their children. However, in 2018, a judge granted Jon custody rights to Hannah and Collin.
Jon Gosselin pushed back at his ex-wife Kate Gosselin’s allegations that their son Collin is “troubled” and “violent.”
“Kate posting cruel false accusations regarding Collin seems to be just another way for her to justify her inexcusable horrific past behavior toward him,” Jon, 46, told the U.S. Sun in a statement via his rep Friday.
“True love for a child wouldn’t include a mother attacking their son to the public.”
The rep claimed that Collin, 19, was recently cleared from an extensive background and mental evaluation to join the US Marine Corps, adding, “The government’s full diagnoses clearly reflects the truth.

Jon’s rep further reminded the public that Kate, 48, lost custody of Collin after failing to show up in court.
“Do not forget that a judge awarded sole legal and physical custody of Collin to his father.”

The rep alleged Kate hasn’t seen Collin since the sixth grade due to being “unable to control her abusive behavior towards him.”
“At this point, Collin is training to be a marine in order to serve his country and is unable to respond to his mother’s callus lies,” Jon’s rep concluded.

Jon’s defense of his son comes mere hours after his ex issued a statement that Collin has allegedly received psychiatric treatment as a result of his “unpredictable and violent behavior.”
In a statement to People, she claimed her son was placed in a facility after receiving “multiple psychiatric diagnoses over the years” and treatments that were “insufficient for his needs.”
“The decision to admit him was made by emergency room doctors following one of his many attacks/outbursts — this one involving his use of a weapon,” Kate, 48, claimed.

The mother of eight further alleged Collin was regularly violent toward her ex-husband, their daughter Hannah Gosselin, 19, and “others around him.”
“Collin’s distorted perception of reality is one of the many issues that he has always struggled with,” she claimed.
“All measures that were taken in our home were at the explicit recommendation of his pediatric psychiatrist and/or his team of specialists and were put into place to safeguard every member of our family, our friends as well as our family pets.”

Kate concluded her statement by claiming that her son was a “very troubled young man,” which has resulted in herself and his siblings distancing themselves from him.
Her daughter Mady Gosselin, 22, also echoed Kate’s claims that Collin was violent.
The drama between the estranged family played out in an episode of “Jon & Kate: Family Circus,” where Jon admitted six out of his eight kids don’t talk to him.

Collin echoed his dad’s claims that he lost connection with his siblings in 2016 when his mom had him institutionalized.
“I think my mom kind of drove a social barrier between us,” he claimed. “She told them the story one way, and, obviously, I see the story a different way.”
Collin is one of Kate and Jon’s sextuplets along with Aaden, Collin, Joel, Hannah, Alexis and Leah, all 19. The former couple also share twins Mady and Cara, 22.

The broken family is known from their time on the TLC show “Jon & Kate Plus 8” — which ran from 2007 to 2017.
As for the divorced couple, they called it quits after 10 years of marriage.
At the time, she received full custody of their children until a judge granted Jon the rights to Hannah and Collin in 2018.
