Katharine McPhee, David Foster’s nanny fatally run over by elderly woman at car dealership
Katharine McPhee and David Foster experienced a devastating incident when their nanny, Yadira Calito, lost her life in a tragic accident at a car dealership. According to TMZ, the incident occurred at a Toyota dealership in San Fernando Valley, California. Calito was waiting for her car to be serviced when an elderly woman mistakenly drove her white Toyota RAV4 into the covered service bay driveway, hitting Calito. The driver accidentally pressed the accelerator instead of the brake, causing Calito to be pinned under the SUV and dragged for about 20 feet. Fortunately, bystanders came to her aid and managed to free her from underneath the car. Despite being rushed to the hospital in critical condition, Calito sadly succumbed to her injuries. Two other individuals were also injured in the accident but are expected to make a full recovery. The driver has not been arrested in connection with the incident.
Last week, McPhee, 39, took to social media to share the heartbreaking news and explain her absence from the final two shows of her and Foster’s tour in Asia. She referred to the incident as a “horrible tragedy” that had befallen her family. McPhee expressed her deep sorrow and apologized to her fans for not being able to perform for them. Foster, 73, continued with the remaining shows on the tour after McPhee returned home. The couple, who got married in 2019, revealed that their nanny, who cared for their 2-year-old son Rennie, had tragically passed away. Foster is also a father to five daughters from previous relationships.

According to TMZ, the couple’s nanny, Yadira Calito, was fatally struck last Wednesday at a Toyota dealership in San Fernando Valley, Calif.
While Calito was waiting for her car to be serviced, an 84-year-old woman drove her white Toyota RAV4 into the covered service bay driveway.
Authorities at the scene said the driver mistakenly hit the accelerator instead of the brake.
Calito was “pinned under the SUV and dragged for about 20 feet” before bystanders came together to help free her from under the car, per TMZ.
She was rushed to the hospital in critical condition where she was later pronounced dead.
Two others were also injured in the crash, but are expected to make full recoveries.

The driver has not been arrested.
Last week, McPhee, 39, announced that she had to rush home from her and her husband’s tour in Asia due to “a horrible tragedy.”
“Dearest Jakarta fans, it’s with heavy heart I announce I have to miss our final two shows of our Asia run. David and I have had a horrible tragedy in our family and at least one of us need to get back home to our family,” she wrote on Instagram.
“Please know how sorry I am and how much I wish to return one day and perform for you all. Love Katharine.”
After the “American Idol” alum departed Asia, Foster, 73, was still able to take the stage for the final two shows on their tour.
It was later revealed that the couple’s nanny for their 2-year-old son, Rennie, had tragically died.
McPhee and the 16-time Grammy winner tied the knot in 2019. Two years later, they welcomed Rennie.
Foster is also the father of daughters Allison, 52, Amy, 49, Sara, 41, Erin, 40, and Jordan, 36, from previous relationships.
