The key to capturing amazing photographs? Enlist a team of beauty experts.
In the latest episode of Hulu’s “The Kardashians,” Kim Kardashian made a grand entrance at the DMV with her entourage. Not only did she have the entire place to herself, but she also received a full glam session before taking “the most important photo you’ll ever take.”
Excitedly, Kardashian exclaimed, “I swear this is where I came to get my license,” as she arrived at a California DMV wearing her trendy $450 Balenciaga pedicure flip-flops, a sleeveless black mock-neck top, and an oversized varsity jacket to renew her driver’s license.
Accompanying her was her hairstylist, Chris Appleton, who carried a bag full of styling tools. Kardashian expressed her gratitude to the staff for keeping the DMV open exclusively for her photo session.
Addressing a producer, Appleton explained, “Today we are with Kim, and we’re getting her driving license picture ready,” while makeup artist Ariel Tejada laughed alongside him.
Appleton defended Kardashian’s dedication to capturing the perfect photo, stating, “It’s a significant moment because you have to live with it for a long time.”
The hair professional emphasized the importance of ensuring a flattering driver’s license photo, saying, “Too many people have unflattering license pictures, so we need to make sure it’s right.” He then exchanged a high five with Tejada and added, “No matter where Kim goes, Ariel and I have got her back.”
During the scene, Kardashian sat in a plastic chair, scrolling through her phone while Tejada applied her makeup and Appleton used a crimper to create beach waves in her hair.
A producer expressed admiration, saying, “I love that you’re getting glammed up for the photo,” to which the Skkn by Kim founder replied, “I mean, this is the most important photo you’ll ever take in your life.”
In addition to her beauty preparations, Kardashian engaged in a playful debate regarding her height with her team. Despite her license stating she is 5-foot-3, she insisted she is at least half an inch taller. Tejada jokingly claimed that Kardashian is “definitely, like, 5-foot-2.”
As Kardashian prepared for the photo, her glam squad surrounded her, reviewing their work. Tejada held up a light while Appleton made final adjustments to her hair.

Although Kardashian acknowledged that it may seem “crazy” to bring a lighting setup and a glam squad to the DMV, she stated, “I don’t care.”
Appleton praised the DMV photographer for capturing the perfect shot in just two attempts. Kardashian couldn’t resist making a playful dig at her “diva” sister, Kourtney, 44, amidst their ongoing feud.
“First is the worst, second is the best,” she remarked, adding, “That’s why I’m the second child.”
