Kris Jenner drank vodka every day while raising her 6 kids
In a recent interview with Vogue Italia, Kim Kardashian shared her mother Kris Jenner’s secret to parenting: a daily glass of vodka. Kardashian praised her mother for successfully raising six children with “six big personalities.” She frequently asks Jenner how she managed to handle the chaos of raising her and her siblings, Kourtney, Khloe, Rob, Kendall, and Kylie. Jenner’s response, according to Kardashian, is always, “Why do you think I had my vodka at 5 o’clock every day?”
Kardashian, who has four children of her own with ex-husband Kanye West, also opened up about the challenges of co-parenting. While she feels lucky to have help with her children, she admits that they still want their mother to solve every problem and act like she has everything under control.
Co-parenting with West has also been difficult, particularly with his public outbursts on social media. Kardashian tries not to show her emotions in front of her children and is always ready to explain why she’s upset in an appropriate manner.
Despite the challenges, Kardashian’s priority is setting a positive example for her children. She learned from her parents, Caitlyn Jenner and the late Robert Kardashian, that sometimes it’s best to surrender and not get the last word. Kardashian hopes to be an example for her own children, too.
Kim Kardashian revealed her mom Kris Jenner’s secret to parenting was a glass of vodka every day.
Speaking about the challenges of parenthood, the Skim’s founder praised her mother for raising six children with “six big personalities.”
“I have so much respect for parents and now I can’t believe what my mom went through,” Kardashian told Vogue Italia in a interview published Monday.
The “Kardashians” star, who has four kids of her own with ex-husband Kanye West, said she often asks Kris how she handled the chaos when her and siblings, Kourtney, Khloe, Rob, Kendall and Kylie, were growing up.
“She is just like, ‘Why do you think I had my vodka at 5 o’clock every day?’” Kim told the magazine.
Kim filed for divorce from the “Heartless” rapper in February 2021 after seven years of marriage. The exes share joint custody of their children, North, 10, Saint, 7, Chicago, 5, and Psalm, 4.
When it comes to raising their four kids, the reality TV star, 42, admitted she was thankful as a single mom to be able to have help.
“I feel so lucky and blessed to have help, but no matter how much help you have, your babies want their mommy, you have to be the one to solve every problem and act like you have it all together,” she told the outlet.
Co-parenting with West, 46, hasn’t always been easy for the “Keeping Up with the Kardashians” alum, who has had to deal with the rap superstar’s social media outbursts blasting her family and her parenting choices.

She explained how she navigates the negativity in front of her kids.
“If it’s something concerning my kids’ dad and I’m upset, I try not to show as much emotion. I have to be ready to explain why I’m upset and it might not be appropriate for them to know,” Kim told the mag.
“There is nothing worse than, ‘You’ll understand when you’re older.’ I don’t want to be that person.”
Kim admitted that her priority is setting a positive example for her children, which she learned from watching Kris, Caitlyn Jenner and her late father, Robert Kardashian.
“I think at some point you just have to surrender to not getting the last word and not having your truth out there,” she told Vogue Italia.
“I also saw a really good example from my parents. And that was helpful. It makes me want to be an example for my kids too.”
