Lara Jean Cameo In XO, Kitty Season 2 Addressed By TATB Star
Attention: The following content contains spoilers for XO, Kitty!To All the Boys star Lana Condor recently spoke about a potential cameo in the second season of XO, Kitty, a spinoff of the popular To All The Boys movie trilogy based on the Jenny Han books. XO, Kitty takes place two years after the trilogy’s conclusion and sees Anna Cathcart reprising her role as Kitty Song Covey, the younger sister of Lara Jean (played by Condor). Kitty takes center stage in this new series as she embarks on a journey to find true love. While XO, Kitty references Lara and confirms her relationship with Peter (Noah Centineo) is still going strong, neither character appears in the Netflix show.
During an interview with TheWrap while promoting her upcoming animated film Ruby Gillman, Teenage Kraken, Condor was asked about the possibility of making a cameo appearance as Lara Jean in XO, Kitty season 2. She expressed her willingness to be part of the spinoff and also praised her former co-star. Here are her comments:
“I would definitely never say never [to returning]. I mean, I think it’s pretty clear that I love the ‘To All the Boys’ world and have dedicated a lot of my young adulthood to it. To me, that world feels like home.”
“It’s just so exciting to see Anna take off on her own because, when I was working with her, she was still young, but she was always like the most professional on set. She was always the most prepared. I always felt like I was hanging out with a peer and not someone younger than I, and so I just respect her so much and I’ve been really excited for her.”
What to Expect from XO, Kitty Season 2
XO, Kitty season 1 follows Kitty’s journey as she moves halfway across the world to South Korea to attend the same boarding school as her late mother and reconnect with her long-distance boyfriend, Dae (Choi Min-young). However, her plans do not go as smoothly as she imagined, and the series sees her explore the complexities of love and relationships.
The end of season 1 left audiences with several questions. Kitty developed feelings for Yuri (Gia Kim) just as she and Dae reconciled. Additionally, she is expelled from school for living in the boys’ dorm, adding more complications to her life. On her plane ride back to Portland, Kitty meets Minho (Sang Heon Lee), a friend of Dae’s, who confesses his feelings for her.
