Leva Bonaparte claps back at Thomas Ravenel: ‘I respect my elders’
Leva Bonaparte, a former star of the reality show “Southern Charm,” responded to being called “boring” by her co-star Thomas Ravenel by saying that she takes it as a compliment. In an interview with TheFantasyTimes, Bonaparte, who is 44 years old, stated that she was taught to respect her elders and didn’t have much to say in response to Ravenel’s comment. She added that she was glad he was still tuning in, despite being a 60-year-old man. Bonaparte speculated that Ravenel might be bored and stated that she sees it as a compliment that he finds her boring, as she wouldn’t want to be the type of person he finds interesting or fun.
Bonaparte also found it amusing that Ravenel continues to watch the show, even though he was fired in 2018 after pleading guilty to assault and battery. Ravenel had tweeted on September 2, which has since been deleted, that he had just watched the newest season of the show and couldn’t believe that the most boring person on there was still Bonaparte. In response, Bonaparte clapped back, pointing out how odd it is for Ravenel to keep targeting women.
Bonaparte didn’t provide specific details about Ravenel’s controversies, but he has been involved in various scandals over the years. This includes admitting to trying to kiss his children’s former nanny in 2019. Bonaparte previously described Ravenel’s comment as odd.
Ravenel’s troubled history also includes a ten-month sentence in federal prison for federal cocaine distribution charges in 2007. His tumultuous relationship with Kathryn Dennis, another former cast member and mother of his children, has been a source of drama throughout the years and resulted in a messy custody battle. He has reportedly been granted primary custody since then.
The ninth season of “Southern Charm” is set to premiere with a supersized episode on Thursday, September 14, at 9 p.m. ET on Bravo. Viewers can also stream the episodes on Peacock the following day.
Leva Bonaparte says being called “boring” by former “Southern Charm” star Thomas Ravenel is actually a compliment.
“I was taught to respect my elders and like I just don’t really have that much to say I mean he’s a 60-year-old man, I’m glad he’s tuning in,” Bonaparte, 44, tells TheFantasyTimes of her reaction the diss.
She adds, “I don’t know what the deal is. I don’t know if he’s just bored? I find that it’s a compliment if Thomas finds me boring, because I wouldn’t really wanna be the type of person he find interesting or fun.”
Bonaparte says that she found it “funny that he still tunes in” even after his “ship has sailed” on the show when Ravenel, 61, was fired in 2018 after he pleaded guilty to assault and battery.
Ravenel wrote in a since-deleted tweet on Sept. 2 that he “just watched” the newest season of the hit Bravo show and “can’t believe the most boring person on there is still Leva.”
