The 35-year-old wore a black long-sleeved crop top that exposed her midriff and a white mini skirt that showcased her legs. She paired the cool look with a black-and-white purse and Converse sneakers. Lizzo’s revealing ensemble comes just weeks after she shut down critics who had criticized her for losing weight.
In a TikTok video posted in May, Lizzo explained why she had gotten slimmer, stating that “for 90 minutes a night, I have to do choreography. I have to sing. I have to dance. I have to rap and I have to play the flute — and I have to emote and hype a crowd in very tight clothes. Sometimes clothes [that] restrict my breathing.” The Grammy winner then clarified that she was not trying to be thin and that she never wants to be thin.
Lizzo bared her bum in a pink thong bathing suit earlier this month, once again showing that she is not afraid to flaunt some skin. While several fans have praised Lizzo for her confidence, others have body-shamed her for her size. A Twitter user recently shared a video of her performing with the caption, “How is Lizzo THIS fat when she’s constantly moving this much on stage?! I wonder what she must be eating🤣.” The “2 Be Loved” songstress then directly addressed the remark online, writing back, “I JUST logged on [on this] app and this is the type of s–t I see about me on a daily basis. It’s really starting to make me hate the world.”
Lizzo further explained that she was “not trying to BE fat” and “not trying to BE smaller” but was rather “just trying to live and be healthy.” Like Lizzo, Adele has also faced backlash over her trimmer figure.
