Madonna | Madonna postpones Celebration tour due to ‘serious bacterial infection’ and her ongoing recovery dws
Madonna, the popular American pop star, is currently recovering from a severe bacterial infection that required her to be admitted to an intensive care unit for several days. This information was revealed by her manager, Guy Oseary, in a statement released on Wednesday.
Oseary further stated that while Madonna’s health is improving, she still requires medical care. However, a full recovery is expected.
As a result of her illness, Madonna’s Celebration tour, initially scheduled to begin on July 15 in Vancouver, Canada, has been postponed indefinitely. It is worth mentioning that Madonna will celebrate her 65th birthday on August 16th.
The global tour was intended to be a tribute to Madonna’s extensive career spanning over four decades. The singer had planned to perform her greatest hits in numerous cities across North America and Europe.
Rescheduled dates will be announced soon
The Celebration tour was set to make stops in various cities including Detroit, Chicago, New York, Miami, Los Angeles, Denver, Atlanta, and Boston. The first leg of the tour was scheduled to conclude on October 8th in Las Vegas.
Following that, Madonna was planning to continue her performances in Europe, with shows in London, Barcelona, and Paris. Additionally, she had concerts scheduled in two German cities: Cologne on November 15th and 16th, and Berlin on November 28th and 29th.
Oseary assured fans that details regarding the rescheduled tour dates will be shared in the near future.
