Mom Kate didn’t reach out after car crash
Collin Gosselin alleges that his estranged mother, Kate Gosselin, and his siblings never reached out to him after his life-threatening car accident in 2022.
“No, I didn’t receive any communication from any of them. They didn’t make an effort to get in touch, not at all,” says the 19-year-old in Vice’s “Jon & Kate Plus 8: Family Circus.”
Despite the traumatic incident, which occurred when he fell asleep at the wheel and his car flipped over, Collin expresses his desire to rebuild his relationship with his estranged family members.
“I love them to death. I genuinely hope that one day we can reconnect and move past the show and just be siblings again, you know?” he says.
“Reclaim the time that we missed.”

Kate’s representative did not immediately respond to TheFantasyTimes’s request for comment.
Collin makes these surprising statements in the new documentary series “Dark Side of the 2000s,” which also features some of his family members.
Elsewhere in the episode, Collin accuses his mother of directing her “anger and frustration” towards him after her divorce from Jon Gosselin in 2009, with whom the teenager resides.

“I know my mother was dealing with a lot of things. I mean, a divorce and various other difficulties that can’t be easy to endure,” he acknowledges.
“And, you know, I want to believe that she needed someone to vent her anger and frustration on, and unfortunately, it ended up being me. I was in the wrong place at the wrong time, so she chose me.”

Collin has been vocal about his experiences growing up on TLC’s “Jon & Kate Plus 8” and the impact it had on his family. He previously revealed that Kate, 48, institutionalized him when he was only 12 years old.

“I spent my 13th and 14th birthdays there, so I was young,” he said. “I didn’t have many life skills.
“At the time, I didn’t really know what to expect or how to process being there, so I felt hopeless.”
Kate stated in 2016 that she had enrolled Collin in a program away from home due to his “special needs” and behavioral issues. However, Collin now claims that she institutionalized him for speaking out about her alleged “abusive” behavior.

“Take back the time that we didn’t have.”
