In the trailer of the upcoming movie Neeyat, Vidya Balan portrays the role of a CBI detective who gradually uncovers the mystery behind the sudden death of a billionaire while he was surrounded by his closest friends.
The two-minute-24-second-long trailer offers glimpses of luxurious mansions and lush green valleys of Scotland while introducing us to Ashish Kapoor (Ram Kapoor) and his group of friends. The sudden death of Ashish Kapoor makes all his friends suspects in the eyes of Vidya’s character, Mira Rao, who believes that Ashish was murdered.

The trailer may remind you of Daniel Craig-starrer Knives Out and Jennifer Aniston and Adam Sandler’s Murder Mystery, as they both revolve around a billionaire’s untimely demise and the members of the household or close friends becoming suspects.
Anu Menon has written the film, which boasts an ensemble cast that includes Rahul Bose, Prajakta Koli, Shahana Goswami, Neeraj Kabi, and Shashank Arora.
Neeyat marks Vidya’s return to the big screen after four years. Her last theatrical release was Mission Mangal in 2019. In 2022, she was seen in Jalsa, a direct-to-digital release, alongside Shefali Shah. She has previously worked with director Anu Menon on the 2020 film Shakuntala Devi, in which she played the role of mathematics genius Shakuntala Devi.
The film is set to release in theatres on July 7, followed by a Prime Video release later this year.
