Nicki Minaj wears bridal corset and lace veil on the VMAs 2023 red carpet
Once a member of the fanbase known as the “Barbs,” always a part of the fanbase. Nicki Minaj made a stunning entrance on the red carpet of the 2023 VMAs, resembling a blushing bride in a pink corset and a sheer lace veil. The 40-year-old singer exuded glamour in her baby pink lingerie, which she paired with a transparent lace mermaid skirt. This marked her second consecutive year hosting the prestigious event at the Prudential Center in New Jersey on Tuesday night.
Minaj adorned her face with a bumblegum pink veil, delicately edged with lace, and her eyeshadow was kept pastel to complement her Barbie-inspired attire. She wore her long hair sleek and straight, parted in the middle, beneath the veil. However, instead of walking down the aisle, she walked down the red carpet and later took to the stage in the same ensemble, albeit struggling due to the tight skirt and an unbuckled shoe.
The singer playfully teased her fans with a bathroom mirror selfie, dressed in black leather, questioning why the VMAs would allow her to host the show, knowing that she is different. She expressed her excitement for the event, which would take place in New York on the 12th of the month.
Minaj, known for her hit songs such as “Beez in the Trap” and “Super Freaky Girl,” is thrilled to be hosting the 2023 VMAs in her pale pink sheer outfit. Throughout the evening, she showcased her lingerie underneath the translucent skirt and matching veil.

The rapper, often referred to as the “Barbie World” rapper, has received six nominations this year, including “Best Hip-Hop,” “Video of the Year,” and “Artist of the Year.” She will also be debuting her latest single, “Last Time I Saw You,” during the MTV Video Music Awards 2023.
During her performance at the 2022 MTV VMAs, Minaj embraced her inner Barbie with her bubblegum hair, a crystal-embellished bustier featuring a heart, and a pleated miniskirt. She struck poses and adjusted her bridal veil while confidently posing on the red carpet.
It remains uncertain if Nicki will have multiple outfit changes throughout the evening; however, she teased another pink shimmering ensemble on Twitter before the awards show. In order to keep up with the 2021 host, Doja Cat, who had an impressive seven outfit changes, Minaj may need to make quick wardrobe changes. Hopefully, the ultimate Barb will continue to embrace her Barbiecore style throughout the evening with a few more stunning outfits.
