OMG 2’s UNRATED Version To Stream On The OTT Platform, Confirms Director Amit Rai —
The filmmakers proceeded with an edited version to comply with the rating, which unfortunately affected the core essence of the movie. However, considering the positive response from audiences and the film’s box office success, the team has decided to release the UNRATED version on an OTT platform. Director Amit Rai of OMG 2 confirmed this update during an interaction with PTI.
“We have made the decision to showcase the original film, the one that the censor board never intended for people to see. However, the public has already seen it and shared their verdict. If the censor board fails to comprehend it, what more can we say?” stated director Amit Rai.
OMG 2 Update: Akshay Kumar, Pankaj Tripathi, and Yami Gautam’s OMG 2 is running successfully in cinemas across the nation. The film was in controversies in the pre-release period, when the CBFC had issues with its adult content. The film received an “A” certificate, and the team was very unhappy with it.
The makers went ahead with an A-rated version and several cuts, which hurt the main context of the film. But now the team has decided to steam the UNRATED version on the OTT platform since audiences have liked the content and made the film a box office hit. OMG 2’s director, Amit Rai, confirmed the update in an interaction with PTI.
“We have decided that we will show the original film, a film that the censor never wanted people to see, but the public has seen the film and given their verdict. If the censor board doesn’t understand it, what do we say?” said director Amit Rai.
