Robin Williams’ kids honor late actor on his birthday
Robin Williams was fondly remembered by his children on what would have been the late actor’s 72nd birthday.
Zak Williams shared a photo on Instagram Friday of his father from the film “Good Morning Vietnam.”
“Happy 72nd Dad!” he captioned the picture.
“I was reminiscing about how much I used to adore that look you would give. That mischievous, affectionate grin that your friends and loved ones knew so well. Full of joy, curiosity, and wonder.”
Zak, who is now 40 years old, concluded, “I miss you and will love you forever!”
The actor is the only child from Robin’s marriage to Valerie Velardi, which ended in 1988. However, he has two half-siblings from the comedian’s second marriage.
Zak has frequently remembered his late father since the beloved movie star passed away at the age of 63 in August 2014.
Last year, he shared a photo on Instagram of Robin wearing cycling gear and captioned it, “Today, I will remember you as you would want to be remembered, in spandex. I miss you and will always love you!”
In 2021, Zak posted a black-and-white photo of his father on Instagram, writing alongside it, “Dad, on what would be your 70th birthday, I want you to know that your incredible spirit lives on within us.
“Our family will be celebrating you and your memory today. We miss you and will love you always!”

Robin’s only daughter, Zelda, also took to social media to honor her father on Friday.
“Happy birthday to Poppo, who would definitely have been out there fighting the good fight for art and artists today and always,” the 33-year-old tweeted, referring to the ongoing actors’ and Writers Guild of America strike, alongside an old photo of Robin on a picket line.

Robin shared Zelda and her brother Cody, who does not appear to have social media, with Marsha Garces. The former couple was married from 1989 to 2010.
Robin died by suicide after a long battle with depression. The “Mrs. Doubtfire” star dealt with mental health issues after he had been misdiagnosed with Parkinson’s disease.
Robin’s autopsy revealed he actually suffered from Lewy body dementia, which can cause behavioral changes, including hallucinations, delusions or changes in mood.
