Roseanne Barr slammed for saying ‘nobody died in the Holocaust’

Roseanne Barr has sparked controversy once again after making comments about the Holocaust. On a recent episode of the podcast “This Past Weekend with Theo Von,” the comedian claimed that “nobody died in the Holocaust” and that “six million Jews should die right now because they cause all the problems in the world.” Barr, whose show “Roseanne” was cancelled in 2018 due to racist tweets, went on to say that she is “100 percent” Jewish.

During the podcast, Barr had been discussing the concept of “truth” in relation to the 2020 presidential election, which some believed to be rigged. Host Theo Von, whose podcast is known for being controversial, claimed that Barr’s remarks were meant to be sarcastic. However, social media users were quick to criticize Barr, with one stating that there is “not one damn thing that is even close to funny” about her comments.

Barr’s son, Jake Pentland, defended his mother’s remarks, claiming that she was being sarcastic and that people were taking her comments out of context. Von also defended Barr, stating that she is “one of the funniest people” he has ever met.

This is not the first time that Barr has faced backlash for controversial remarks. In 2018, her show was cancelled after she made racist comments comparing former President Barack Obama’s adviser Valerie Jarrett to an ape and claiming that George Soros was a Nazi sympathizer.

TheFantasyTimes has reached out to Barr’s representatives for comment on the recent controversy.

Roseanne Barr has come under fire again for making controversial comments about the Holocaust.

The embattled comedian claimed “nobody died in the Holocaust” during a recent episode of the podcast “This Past Weekend with Theo Von.”

“That’s the truth. It should happen,” Barr, 70, said to host Theo Von.

“Six million Jews should die right now because they cause all the problems in the world. But, it never happened. It never happened.”

The stand-up comic, whose series “Roseanne” was canceled in 2018 following her racist tweets, went on to say that she is “100 percent” Jewish.

Prior to her comments on the Holocaust, the “Roseanne Barr: Cancel This!” star had been discussing the idea of “truth” in regards to the 2020 presidential election, which some believed to be rigged.

“There’s such a thing as the truth and facts and we have to stick to it,” she said.

Von, 43, whose podcast is known for stoking controversy, claimed Barr’s remarks were meant to be “sarcastic.”

“This Roseanne Barr clip was sarcasm folks. A clip taken out of a long sarcastic rant she had during our chat. Can we not recognize sarcasm anymore?” he tweeted Tuesday.

“She is a mensch and one of the funniest people i’ve ever met,” Von added.

Amid the backlash to Barr’s statements, her son, Jake Pentland, also spoke out in her defense.

“We are embarrassed that people are stupid enough not to recognize Roseanne is being sarcastic,” he told TMZ Tuesday.

“We think it’s funny that people are so stupid. Let’s stop doing this clickbait s—t, we need to focus on big problems in America. Focusing on out-of-context clips is what morons do.”

Social media users had a lot to say in response to the viral podcast clip.

“There is NOT one damn thing that is even close to funny in Roseanne Barr’s vile outrageous LIES,” one user wrote.

“I have looked into the eyes of a holocaust survivor and listened to her speak of her experience … Roseanne Barr needs to check herself into the looney bin,” another tweeted.

A third person also criticized Von for giving Barr a platform.

“[He] seemingly allowed Roseanne Barr to spew holocaust denial nonsense on his podcast. He’s been trying to defend it with full context clips, but I watched that one as well and it didn’t make it any better so I’m unsure what he was thinking,” the user wrote.

Back in 2018, ABC cancelled her eponymous sitcom after she compared former president Barack Obama’s adviser Valerie Jarrett to an ape and claimed George Soros was a Nazi sympathizer.
