Rumer Willis shared a heartwarming glimpse of her father, Bruce Willis, on grandpa duty as they celebrated Father’s Day with her partner, Derek Richard Thomas. Rumer posted a carousel of Instagram photos with one particularly poignant pic of the “Die Hard” star holding his granddaughter, Louetta, and others featuring Thomas with their baby.
“Seeing my father hold my daughter today was something I will treasure for the rest of my life,” she wrote. Rumer also paid tribute to her boyfriend with whom she shares Louetta, who was born in April. Following her post, celeb friends including Olivia Munn, Kathy Hilton and Ricki Lake left sweet comments and love heart emojis.
Bruce Willis is the father of Rumer and her siblings Scout and Tallulah from his first marriage to Demi Moore which ended in 2000. Rumer’s sister Tallulah recently penned an essay about her father’s dementia diagnosis and how she is documenting everything she can to build a record for the day when he isn’t there to remind her of him and of their family.
In March 2022, Willis’ family announced in a joint statement that the beloved actor, 68, would be retiring from acting after being diagnosed with aphasia. Almost a year later, the family shared an update revealing that “The Sixth Sense” star had been diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia.
On the same day, Bruce’s former wife, Emma Heming, acknowledged that the actor’s relationship with his two youngest daughters, Mabel and Evelyn, has changed because of his condition. She wrote on Instagram, “Where it might not be ‘conventional,’ what he’s teaching them will span generations. Unconditional love, kindness, strength, compassion, patience, generosity, resilience.”

“Seeing my father hold my daughter today was something I will treasure for the rest of my life,” she continued. “His sweetness and love for her was so pure and beautiful. Papa I’m so lucky to have you and so is Lou. Thank you for being the silliest, most loving, coolest Daddio a girl could ask for. Best Girl Dad in the game….”
The mom of one, 32, is the oldest daughter of Bruce from his first marriage to Demi Moore which ended in 2000. They also went on to have Scout, 31, and Tallulah, 29.

“Happy 1st Father’s Day. Thank you for building a beautiful garden for Lou to play in and eat from. 🌱. Thank you for filling the house with music for her to hear 🎶 Thank you for all the late night diaper changes and silly faces.

“I have every voicemail from him saved on a hard drive. I find that I’m trying to document, to build a record for the day when he isn’t there to remind me of him and of us.”
She added that Bruce still knows who she is and “lights up” when she enters the room.
