Scheana Shay admits she’s not at a ‘healthy weight’ from ‘stress’
Scheana Shay has openly admitted that she experienced an “unhealthy” weight loss due to the stress and anxiety caused by her co-star, Scandoval. During an episode of her podcast, “Scheananigans,” the reality TV star confessed to nutritionist Lauren Hubert that she had fallen back into bad habits despite being in a good place after giving birth to her daughter, Summer, almost two years ago.
“After having the baby, I made a conscious effort not to obsess over my weight,” explained the 38-year-old. “But in the past two months, my life has been incredibly hectic, which has affected my appetite and exercise routine, resulting in further weight loss.” Although Scheana rarely weighs herself, she decided to step on the scale recently just to get an idea of where she stood. She realized that it was time to increase her food intake and focus on weight training to maintain a healthier weight. She also acknowledged the negative impact that stress and anxiety can have on one’s body.
Despite Scheana’s explanation, many people have speculated that she may be using Ozempic, a popular weight loss drug among Bravo TV personalities. However, Scheana vehemently denied these accusations, stating that she would never resort to such methods. She also clarified that while she had friends who had made jokes about using the drug after giving birth, she did not believe it was a suitable solution.
The overwhelming stress in Scheana’s life began earlier this year when news broke that Scandoval had cheated on his long-term girlfriend, Ariana Madix, with their co-star Raquel Leviss. Scheana, who was close to all three individuals at the time, has since cut ties with Leviss and Scandoval. However, she still has to film the upcoming season of “Vanderpump Rules” with Scandoval. Despite her efforts to maintain her mental and physical well-being following the birth of her daughter, Scheana found herself in an uncomfortable situation during a meditation session with Scandoval during a cast trip to Lake Tahoe. She described the experience as emotionally draining but acknowledged that it would make for compelling television.
Scheana expressed her disappointment in Scandoval’s actions, considering their decade-long friendship. She has faced criticism for being seen as disloyal due to her continued friendship with Scandoval. Losing such a long-standing friendship has been challenging for her.
In an attempt to prove her loyalty to Madix, Scheana has defended her fellow co-stars on social media. She has been vocal about the fact that outsiders do not have all the information about the group dynamics and that there are consequences for their actions.
Overall, Scheana’s recent weight loss has raised questions among fans, but she has vehemently denied using any weight loss drugs. She attributes her weight loss to the stress and anxiety caused by her co-star, Scandoval, and is now focused on maintaining a healthier lifestyle.
Scheana Shay admits that she lost an “unhealthy” amount of weight due to “stress and anxiety” caused by Scandoval.
During Friday’s episode of her “Scheananigans” podcast, the “Vanderpump Rules” star confessed to nutritionist Lauren Hubert that she recently fell back into bad habits despite being in a good place following the birth of her daughter Summer, almost 2.
“Ever since I had the baby, I tried not to weigh myself all the time because I didn’t want to get so fixated on the number,” the 38-year-old explained. “And then the last two months of my life have just been insane, there’s been a lot going on that has affected my appetite and working out habits recently and I’ve lost more weight.”
Although Shay rarely weighs herself, she decided to “pull out the scale” the other day just to see where she was at.

“But I stepped on it and I was like, ‘OK, time to up the food and up the weights,’” she said. “I don’t want to be in the 1-0s because I don’t think that is a healthy weight for me. And it shows what stress and anxiety does to your body.”
Yet given the timing of her dramatic transformation, many people have accused Shay of taking Ozempic, a Bravolebrity-loved weight loss drug.
“I’ve had people ask me currently if I’m on that and absolutely not. Wouldn’t do it. Not for me,” she said.

The “VPR” star continued, “I have other friends who — I don’t want to name names — who have made some jokes about it like, ‘Well, after my next baby I’ll just get on Ozempic.’ And I am like, ‘I don’t think that is what it’s there for?’”

The overwhelming stress seems to have started at the beginning of the year after news broke that Tom Sandoval had cheated on his longtime girlfriend, Ariana Madix, with co-star Raquel Leviss.
Shay — who was close to all three of them at the time — has since severed ties with Leviss and Sandoval, yet she still has to film the upcoming season with the latter.

In fact, the ex-friends were forced to share an intimate meditation session during the “Vanderpump Rules” cast trip to Lake Tahoe last month.
A few days later the mother of one revealed that the situation “was very uncomfortable” but joked that it will make for “good TV.”
“Wednesday filming was beyond the most emotionally draining day I have ever had in 11 seasons of ‘Vanderpump Rules,’” Shay said during an Amazon Live. “My eyelashes hurt from how much I cried that day, my contacts were dry, I was congested, I felt weak in every way possible.”
While she didn’t divulge what led her to tears, she reminded fans that she and Sandoval, 41, had a decade-long friendship before the scandal.

“I don’t like what he did to Ariana obviously,” she continued. “Him and I have had a really long friendship so everyone always [says], ‘Oh Scheana the flip-flopper, Scheana needs to have loyalty,’ and losing a friendship of that long has obviously been a struggle.”
In order to seemingly prove her loyalty to Madix, Shay has acted as a keyboard warrior in recent weeks while defending her fellow co-stars amid speculation that they are going too easy on the wannabe rocker.
“NO one knows what’s actually happening in this group right now other than US!” she wrote under a fan page Friday. “Nothing is fake in this group and people are definitely paying for their actions.”
