Netflix’s TUDUM event in Brazil showcased a teaser for “The Archies,” which takes viewers back to the era of Rock & Roll with a group of young boys and girls enjoying life in a hill station called Riverdale, complete with harmonica strains and retro vibes.
The cast of Zoya Akhtar’s much-anticipated Netflix film, including Suhana Khan, Khushi Kapoor, Agastya Nanda, Mihir Ahuja, Dot, Yuvraj Menda, and Vedang Raina, attended the event in Sao Paulo and gave an electrifying performance dancing to the song “sun” from the film.
“You’ve seen the gang in the comics, in books, and even in Riverdale — but this time around, you’ll see them closer to home! Set in the 60’s, The Archies builds a world that’s both familiar and new. Here’s your first look #TUDUM,” Netflix tweeted along with the one minute and 26-second teaser.
The video is set in 1964 Goa and follows a gang of young friends enjoying parties, music, and outdoor adventures. The harmonica theme and the song “Chhoona aasmaan” playing in the background suggest that the soundtrack of “The Archies” will have a vintage touch.
“The Archies” is based on a popular comic series of the same name about high-school student Archie Andrews and his friends, who reside in the fictional town of Riverdale and attend Riverdale High School.
