Tears Of The Kingdom – Misko’s Treasure Guide

Discover a plethora of armor sets scattered throughout Tears Of The Kingdom. Acquiring complete sets can be both challenging and incredibly entertaining, as each section holds valuable rewards that are unrelated to the main story. Interestingly, there is a wandering NPC who can guide you towards pieces of three different armors, if you happen to stumble upon her. RELATED: The Legend Of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom – Yiga Clan Training Rewards Brace yourself for a series of trials and follow the path of a legendary bandit through three separate caves. Updated by Wyatt Grondin on June 27, 2023: A new section has been added since the last publication, providing players with information on how to recover these armor sets after parting with them. There is also additional knowledge regarding other treasure hunters and their connection to this specific set of treasures. Uncovering Meeshy While traversing the roads of Hyrule, keep an eye out for a traveler donning a green dress adorned with mushroom patterns. This traveler, known as Place, may hold valuable information. Although her outfit is not particularly rare, as it is a fashionable trend originating from Hateno Village, spotting her amidst the crowds can still prove helpful. Place is a fashion enthusiast who has dedicated herself to uncovering the rumors surrounding a bandit named Misko. Misko, who also made appearances in Breath Of The Wild, allegedly stashed away his outfits as hidden treasures. Place is intrigued by the idea of locating these outfits, but admits that she lacks the adventurous spirit required to face the challenges involved. Instead, she offers to mark the locations of these treasures on your Purah Pad map. It is important to note that all of these armors can be found even without encountering Place. Technically, this is not a quest that will appear in your quest log, but rather, X marks placed on your map. However, these X marks serve as valuable guidance, indicating the exact locations of the caves you must explore. How To Obtain The “Fairly Wild” Outfit Place possesses detailed knowledge of the armor sets’ locations, descriptions of their abilities, and adjectives describing their appearance. Your first treasure hunt leads to the discovery of the “Fairly Wild” outfit, rumored to imbue the wearer with immense power. The X icon will direct you to Crenel Hills Cave, located at coordinates -1182, 0622, and 0066. This small cave is filled with ore deposits and shallow water. However, beware of the formidable Stone Talus boss monster lurking in the center of the water. Defeating this monster is no easy feat for early-game players. The key is to destroy the ore deposit on the monster’s head. A useful strategy is to shoot an arrow at the deposit, causing the Talus to recoil, allowing you to climb atop it and strike the deposit repeatedly. While the armor itself is not held by the Talus, it is advisable to defeat the monster before attempting to retrieve it. Reduce the Talus to rubble and search for a glowing wall of ore on the ceiling. Arm yourself with a bow and fuse a Bomb Flower to an arrow, using it to demolish the wall. Congratulations! You have obtained the first of Misko’s Treasures – the Barbarian Armor chest piece. RELATED: The Legend Of Zelda: Tears Of The Kingdom – How To Complete All Bring Peace Quests How To Obtain The “Quite Stylish” Outfit The next outfit that Place reveals to you is one that facilitates swift climbing up cliff walls, making it a must-have for avid climbers. Your destination is North Hyrule Plain Cave, located at coordinates -1182, 0622, and 0066. Upon entering the cave, you will find a series of waterfalls that must be scaled. The design of this cave aligns perfectly with the climbing ability of the armor you shall receive. Similar to the previous cave, the armor is not found at the end but concealed within a secret wall located behind a waterfall. To spot it, look for the wooden spikes on the cave walls, remnants of Misko’s presence that can be found in all the caves. Additionally, glowing purple cave mushrooms illuminate the water, aiding your navigation. To avoid getting stuck in the water, leap and glide from the ramp. Link will seamlessly pass through the waterfall, unveiling the treasure chest on the other side. This treasure turns out to be the chest piece of the Climbing Gear armor set. How To Obtain The “Very Snappy” Outfit The final outfit poses the greatest challenge, offering Link increased resistance to damage from lightning attacks. The cave you must seek is Whistling Hill Cave, located at coordinates 3351, -2143, and 0119. As a side note, you may encounter another individual named Coffee, who is also in search of Misko’s Treasure. Similar to Place, Coffee deems this particular treasure too perilous for his capabilities and admits to being unable to find the cave’s entrance. This is because the entrance is presently obstructed. Utilize a claymore, a rock-fused weapon, or another Bomb Flower to break through. Be aware that this cave is treacherous, teeming with enemies that employ lightning-based attacks. Notably, the electric Keese have the ability to shock Link, causing him to drop his weapon. Deal with these foes swiftly. To progress, you must incinerate the vines obstructing your path. Continue your journey through the cave until you reach the end. There, you will encounter an electric version of the Like Like monster. Unlike its boulder-spitting counterpart, this electrified Like Like hurls balls of electricity at you. Surprisingly, these electric balls move slower than the boulders, making them slightly less perilous. Just as you would with a regular Like Like, entice it to open its mouth to expose its weak point, then unleash your attacks to defeat it. Once the Like Like is vanquished, you must destroy one final rock wall on the ceiling before climbing through. Congratulations! You have obtained the final treasure – the chest piece of the Rubber Armor set. Returning To Place The only indication that your quest is complete is the disappearance of the X marks on your map. If you come across Place again in Hateno Village or near the location of the Barbarian Helm, she may vaguely mention its whereabouts without providing an X mark. Furthermore, she will no longer mention any of the other armor pieces, indicating that this unmarked quest has no connection to the Fierce Deity Armor, which Misko also concealed in a cave. The same applies if you encounter Coffee again, as well as other treasure hunters donning Cece attire. Place is the only one who will offer you map markers, while the other treasure hunters solely serve as clues indicating the presence of a different Misko treasure in the area. Reacquiring The Armors Should you find yourself in need of the armor sets once again, fear not, for they can be repurchased. Simply accumulate enough rupees and buy them from Cece. You’ll find a lot of armor sets through Tears Of The Kingdom. Getting full sets will be both a hassle and tons of fun, as the various sections can be rewarding for completely unrelated open-world activities. In fact, there’s a wandering NPC who can steer you in the direction of pieces for 3 different armors if you are lucky enough to come across her.

Updated by Wyatt Grondin on June 27, 2023: Since the last publication, a new section telling players how to recover these armor sets after parting with them has been added. There is now additional information concerning the other treasure hunters and their relation to this specific set of treasures.

Finding Meeshy

Tears Of The Kingdom Meeshy Telling Link About Misko's Outfit

x

If you’re walking the roads of Hyrule and spot a traveler in a green dress with mushroom patternsflag her down, as that’s Place. Her outfit isn’t uncommon, as it’s a fashionable trend from Hateno Village, but this should still help you spot her from the crowd. She’s a fashion fanatic, to the point that she’s tracked down the old rumors of a bandit named Misko (who also had references in Breath Of The Wild) and his outfits that are stashed away as treasure. She loves the idea of seeing them but knows she’s not the adventurous type to survive the challenge, so she’ll share the locations on your Purah Pad map for you to track down instead.

It should be noted that all of these armors can be found without ever meeting Meeshy. This is not technically a quest as it does not show up in your quest log, only as Xs on your map. That said, the Xs help a lot as they are exact placements for the caves you’ll have to go to.

How To Get The “Fairly Wild” Outfit

Tears Of The Kingdom Meeshy Showing Fairly Wild Outfit On Map

Meeshy knows the exact location of the armor sets, a description of the ability they possess, and adjectives for how they look, but not their proper names. So your first treasure is a “Fairly Wild” outfit she’s heard fills the wearer with power.

Tears Of The Kingdom Link Entering Crenel Hills Cave

The X icon will match up with Crenel Hills Cave at coordinates -1182, 0622, and 0066. This is a small cave with a bunch of ore deposits and shallow water in the middle. But there’s a massive danger in the middle of the water.

Tears Of The Kingdom Stone Talus Inside Crenel Hills Cave

The Stone Talus boss monster is an almost unfair fight for early-game players. The trick is to destroy the ore deposit on its head, and a good strategy is to shoot an arrow at the deposit to get the Talus to flinch; then, you can climb up the Talus and swing at the deposit for as long as you can. This Talus isn’t holding the armor, but you’ll want to defeat it before attempting to grab it.

Tears Of The Kingdom Ore Deposit Wall Crenel Hills Cave

Turn the Talus to rubble and then look for a glowing wall of ore around the ceiling. Take your bow and fuse a Bomb Flower to an arrow to destroy this wall.

Tears Of The Kingdom Barbarian Armor Obtained

Now, you have your first of Misko’s Treasures, the Barbarian Armor chest piece.

How To Get The “Quite Stylish” Outfit

Tears Of The Kingdom Meeshy Showing Quite Stylish Outfit On Map

The next outfit Meeshy tells you about is an outfit that will let you quickly climb cliff walls. A must for players who love climbing.

Tears Of The Kingdom Link Entering North Hyrule Plain Cave

Your destination is North Hyrule Plain Cave at coordinates -1182, 0622, and 0066. Once you find your way into the cave, continue inside to find it’s mostly a series of waterfalls that you have to climb up. This cave is deliberately meant to match with the given ability of the armor reward, which technically, the fight with the Talus was also meant to do, but it’s far more obvious here.

Tears Of The Kingdom Secret Waterfall In North Hyrule Plain Cave

The armor is not at the end of the cave; it’s hidden in this secret wall behind a waterfall. To spot it, look for the wooden spikes on the cave walls; they were left by Misko, and you’ll see them in all the caves. There are also glowing purple cave mushrooms that are bright enough to see through the water to light your way.

Tears Of The Kingdom Link Paragliding Into Secret Waterfall Hyrula Plain Cave

Jump and glide from the ramp to avoid getting stuck in the water. Link will go straight through the waterfall to find the treasure chest on the other side.

Tears Of The Kingdom Climbing Gear Obtained

The outfit will turn out to be the chest piece of the Climbing Gear armor set.

How To Get The “Very Snappy” Outfit

Tears Of The Kingdom Meeshy Showing Very Snappy Outfit On Map

The final outfit will be the most challenging. This snappy outfit will reduce the damage Link takes from lightning attacks. The cave you’re looking for is Whistling Hill Cave at coordinates 3351, -2143. 0119.

Tears Of The Kingdom Kaffi Telling Link About Great Bandit Misko's Legendary Treasure

As a side note, you may encounter another person named Coffeewho is also looking for Misko’s Treasure. But like Meeshy, Kaffi will deem this treasure too dangerous for the likes of him. He’ll also say he gave up as he can’t find the entrance to the cave.

Tears Of The Kingdom Rock Wall Blocking Whistling Hill Cave

That’s because it’s currently blocked up. Use a claymore, rock-fused weapon, or another Bomb Flower to break inside.

This cave is dangerous and filled with enemies with lightning-based attacks. Of note are the electric Keese, who can shock Link hard enough that he’ll drop whatever weapon he was carrying. Deal with them swiftly.

Tears Of The Kingdom Vine Wall Whistling Hill Cave

To progress, you’ll have to burn these vines blocking your path.

Tears Of The Kingdom Electric Like-Like Whistling Hills Cave

You’ll have to continue your journey through the cave until the very end. You’ll be greeted with an electric version of the Like Like monster. Instead of spitting boulders, this Like Like can shoot balls of electricity at you. In a way, this makes them less dangerous, as the electric balls somehow fly slower than the boulders. Just like a regular Like Like, trick it into opening up its mouth to get its weak point and smash said weak point to pieces.

Tears Of The Kingdom Link Aiming Bomb Arrow At Upper Rock Wall Whistling Hill Cave

With the Like Like dead, you have one final rock wall in the ceiling to destroy and then climb through.

Tears Of The Kingdom Rubber Armor Obtained

You’ll now have the final treasure, the chest piece for the Rubber Armor set.

Returning To Meeshy

Tears Of The Kingdom Meeshy Telling Link About Cave Near Fort Hateno

The only indication this quest is over is that the Xs will be gone. If you find Meeshy again in Hateno Village or near the location of the Barbarian Helm, she’ll mention it’s vague location without marking an X for you, and nothing about any of the other armor pieces anymore — meaning this unmarked quest also has nothing to do with the Fierce Deity Armor that Misko also stored away in a cave.

This is also the case if you find Kaffi again, as well as other treasure hunters wearing Cece clothes. Meeshy is the only one who will give you map markers, the other treasure hunters are only there to provide a clue that you’re in an area with a different Misko treasure.

Reobtaining The Armors

zelda tears of the kingdom cece secret map

Just lke any other unique armor set, if you need to part with it, you can buy it back. In this case, you will need to save up your rupees and buy them from Cece.
