Tears of the Kingdom Player One-Shots Silver Boss Bokoblin

A creative player of The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom recently discovered a clever method to defeat a silver Boss Bokoblin in one hit using the game’s building mechanics. The player shared their accomplishment on social media just as another fan of the game was showing off their all-terrain troupe train.

The latest Zelda game, Tears of the Kingdom, expands on almost every aspect of Breath of the Wild, including enemy variety and AI. The addition of Boss Bokoblins, giant monsters capable of organizing Bokoblins into a much greater threat, underlines both of these improvements.

However, as demonstrated by Reddit user Switcheroo11, even these imposing creatures can be defeated in one hit with a sufficiently massive object. The gameplay video shared by Switcheroo11 shows the player using a gigantic “hammer vehicle” to strike a silver Boss Bokoblin patrolling the Rist Peninsula, killing it instantly.

The components of the hammer vehicle are somewhat obscure, including a heavy stone block found only in the Hebra skies on the opposite side of the map. Nevertheless, the technique for one-shotting enemies is straightforward to reproduce. Switcheroo11 theorizes that any object of sufficient weight would do the trick, as long as it’s dropped with enough angular momentum. This is why the player designed their mammoth construction like a hammer, allowing ample time for its concrete head to accelerate after being dropped.

This method works on even the most dangerous enemies in Tears of the Kingdom outside of bosses, including Lynels and Boss Bokoblins. The technique could be used for farming enemy drops in a more efficient manner than traditional combat, especially since constructing a viable hammer with Autobuild would waste only a few Zonaite pieces instead of weapon durability. However, Switcheroo11 has already demonstrated an even more clever alternative, using the hammer as a vehicle to drive from one mob farming spot to the next and minimizing unnecessary tool rebuilding.

This isn’t the first time that fans have found a new use for the game’s Ultrahand ability this month. Just a few days ago, another Tears of the Kingdom player built a working combustion engine by using Link’s versatile power of object manipulation.

One inventive The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom player found an incredibly clever way to one-shot a silver Boss Bokoblin by leveraging the game’s building mechanics. They promptly took to social media to share this seemingly impossible achievement, having done so just as another Tears of the Kingdom fan was showcasing their all-terrain troupe train.

But as recently found by Reddit user Switcheroo11, even those imposing creatures can be downed with a single hit, so long as the impact comes from a sufficiently massive object. A recently shared gameplay video demonstrating this discovery shows Switcheroo11 dropping a gigantic “hammer vehicle” onto an unsuspecting silver Boss Bokoblin patrolling the Tears of the Kingdom’s Rist Peninsula, killing it instantly.

The enormous contraption used in the video consists of some fairly obscure components, including a heavy stone block that can only be found in the Hebra skies on the opposite side of the map. Yet the underlying technique for one-shotting enemies should be fairly straightforward to reproduce, with Switcheroo11 theorizing that any object of sufficient weight would do the trick, as long as it’s dropped with enough angular momentum. This is precisely why the player shaped their mammoth construction like a hammer, allowing ample time for its concrete head to accelerate after being dropped.

The disposal method reportedly works on even the most dangerous Tears of the Kingdom enemies outside of bosses, including Lynels and—despite their name—Boss Bokoblins. As such, the technique could be used for farming enemy drops in a manner that’s much more efficient than conventional combat, not least because constructing a viable hammer with Autobuild would at most waste a few Zonaite pieces instead of weapon durability. That said, Switcheroo11 already demonstrated an even cleverer alternative, which is to make the hammer double as a vehicle used for driving from one mob farming spot to the next, thus minimizing unnecessary tool (re)building.
