As a huge fan of detective series, from Karamchand to Helen Mirren in Prime Suspect, Hercule Poirot in Agatha Christie, and Kate Winslet in Mare of Easttown, I’ve always yearned to become that detective woman. When Hansal and Ekta presented me with a 25-page synopsis, I started reading it at 1 a.m. and instantly knew that I had found the woman I wanted to be. Ekta, Hansal, and I embarked on this journey to create a slightly unconventional yet heartfelt film, filled with smiles and tears. The film premiered at the British Film Institute last night, and as it begins its journey in the world of cinema, I’m thrilled and nervous as an actor and a first-time producer. It feels strange to say that, but it also feels incredibly cool. So, I’m giving you all a glimpse of this extraordinary creation as we delve into the world of Jas Bhamra. I hope Jas’ journey is far from over, as it has been a dream to continue portraying this remarkable and resilient woman, whose grief knows no bounds but whose strength is even greater than she realizes.”
Featuring an ensemble cast including Kareena Kapoor Khan, Ash Tandon, Ranveer Brar, and Keith Allen, “The Buckingham Murders” is helmed by acclaimed director Hansal Mehta. The film is produced by Shobha Kapoor, Ektaa R. Kapoor, and Kareena Kapoor Khan.
