The “Late Night Tip” singer had attended a Memphis concert with her brother the day before her death, who was hospitalized following an overdose.

The “Side 2 Side” rapper, who was featured on tracks by famous artists such as Gucci Mane, OutKast, Latto, and The Game, left the group in the early 2000s to pursue her solo career.
She released various solo albums and mixtapes and worked with music outlets such as Uproxx to produce new music and performances. In December 2022, Gangsta Boo revealed that she was working on a new project called “The BooPrint,” which she intended to release in 2023.

The “Sippin on Some Syrup” rapper’s death was confirmed by her label-mate DJ Paul K.O.M., who posted a photo on Instagram of her deejaying in tribute at the time of her death.
The outlet, which is based in Local Memphis, Tenn., reported that Gangsta Boo was found dead around 4 p.m. local time.
Boo, whose real name was Lola Chantrelle Mitchell, shared an Instagram video just hours before her death.
In the post, the rapper gushed over her accomplishments in 2022, writing, “Some of the things that I did in 2022! So fun and productive, climbed out my shell alot!! 2023 go be 23’n! #JORDAN #BOOPRINT #recap Happy New 2023 everyone!”
The “Stay Fly” rapper was the second female member of Three 6 Mafia after K-9.
She went on to release various solo albums in addition to appearing in the rap group’s first five studio releases.
After joining Three 6 Mafia in the 1990s, Gangsta Boo left the group in the early 2000s to launch another solo album and numerous mixtapes.
