Ty Pennington was intubated in ICU after abscess blocked airway

Ty Pennington is currently recovering from a health scare that left him in critical condition.

The popular host of “Trading Spaces” revealed on Instagram on Friday that he was rushed to a hospital in the Denver area and had to be intubated earlier this week, just days after attending the premiere of the “Barbie” movie in Los Angeles.

“This past week has been quite eventful!” he wrote in the caption alongside photos of himself lying in a hospital bed. He assured his 250,000 followers that he is now “okay” but still in the process of recovering.

“On Sunday, I walked the red carpet for @barbiethemovie. On Monday, I flew to Colorado to start filming in Breckinridge. And on Tuesday morning, I woke up at 4am struggling to breathe. It turns out, the sore throat I’ve had for the past month was actually an abscess that had grown so large it was obstructing my airway,” Pennington shared.
