Villains We Want to See in The Film

James Gunn has recently revealed the slate for the new rebooted DCU. The first chapter, known as “Gods and Monsters,” has left many people excited to see how the new changes will play out. The film will feature the return of Gotham’s Dark Knight and may symbolize a new beginning for the live-action Bat Family. With the Flash bidding farewell to the previous DC Universe, it is now time for the introduction of new heroes, such as Damian Wayne, who embarks on a perilous journey as both a character and a hero.

The Bat Family has been an integral part of the comics, and fans are delighted to see numerous members appear in the film. The most intriguing question is, who will be the main antagonist? It’s a challenge to zero in on a particular villain because there are so many options to draw inspiration from the comics. Here are a few antagonists we believe could appear in the upcoming DC film, “The Brave and the Bold.”

Ra’s Al Ghul is one of the most well-known DC villains and could make his big-screen live-action debut in “The Brave and the Bold.” The whole plot centers around Batman and his son, Damian Wayne, who is revealed to be the successor of the League of Assassins since he is the grandson of the Demon, Ra’s Al Ghul. The film could approach this topic with enough emphasis on Ra’s Al Ghul being the villain, as Batman certainly doesn’t want any negative influence on his son.

Mr. Freeze is another viable choice as the main antagonist of “The Brave and the Bold.” He is a genius yet pitied villain in the comics who has done many awful things, but his desire to save his wife significantly outweighs them. With the Joker and Riddler out of the way, Mr. Freeze could provide an emotional story to kick off the new era in DC. Furthermore, the addition of Mr. Freeze would break the mold of super-powered villains pitted against normal heroes.

Poison Ivy could be introduced in “The Brave and the Bold” and give Batman and Damian a run for their money. Her seductive powers could put their father-son relationship to the test, and given that she has already appeared in a live-action film, “Batman and Robin” (1997), which didn’t do justice to her character, “The Brave and the Bold” feels like a perfect opportunity to give importance to the temptress. However, the film must not emphasize any romance between Batman and Talia Al Ghul other than acknowledging their relationship.

Not all of Batman’s enemies have to be ruthless criminals like the Joker or Bane. They can also be amusing and give the Gotham Knight a run for his money. In that sense, Killer Moth would be an ideal antagonist for “The Brave and the Bold.” Killer Moth, who used to go by Drury Walker, chose to become the antithesis of the Gotham Knight after reading an article about Batman while in prison. He even created a Mothcave and Mothmobile inspired by the Batcave and Batmobile, making him not just a mad villain but also one who kept the Gotham Vigilante busy.

Overall, “The Brave and the Bold” has the potential to be a great addition to the DC universe. With the introduction of new heroes and potential villains, fans can’t wait to see how it plays out.

With James Gunn recently dropping the slate for the new rebooted DCU, which will kick off with the first part known as Chapter 1: Gods and Monstersmany people were excited to see how the new changes would play out. Fans’ expectations are relatively high, especially since it also featured the film, The Brave and the Bold. Given how it will bring back Gotham’s Dark Knight, it might very well symbolize a new beginning for the live-action Bat Family.

It’s a challenge to zero in on a particular villain because we could draw a lot of inspiration from the comics. So, here are a few antagonists we believe could appear in the upcoming DC film, The Brave and the Bold.

Ra’s Al Ghul

The Brave and the Bold Villains
DC Comics

The whole plot of The Brave and the Bold centers around Batman and his son Damian Wayne, who is revealed to be the son of Batman and Talia Al Ghul later in the comics. Damian is the successor of the League of Assassins since he is the grandson of the Demon, Ra’s Al Ghul. While he was educated in the League until the age of ten, he soon finds himself under the care of Batman, bringing about a significant transformation in the life of Damian, who has turned into a ruthless killer.

If The Brave and the Bold film approaches this topic with enough emphasis on Ra’s Al Ghulwe may be able to see him as the villain because Batman certainly doesn’t want any negative influence on his son and Damian being a League of Assassins heir puts him in the very circumstance he doesn’t want to happen.

It’s similar to how Green Arrow is forced to train under Ra’s Al Ghul in The CW’s Arrow series, which eventually pits him against this old demon. Through this scenario, one of the most well-known DC villains would make his big-screen live-action debut.

Mr. Freeze

The Brave and the Bold Villains
DC Comics

Mr. Freeze is a genius yet pitied villain in The Brave and the Bold comics because, while having done many awful things, his past and desire to save his wife significantly outweigh them. With the Joker and Riddler out of the way for The Brave and the BoldMr. Freeze appears to be a viable choice as it wouldn’t feature a terrifying villain for Damian and the new Batman to face in the film. It would also provide us with a sufficient grasp of the character as well as an emotional story to kick off the new era in DC.

Furthermore, the addition of Mr. Freeze as the main antagonist of The Brave and the Bold would also break the mold of super-powered villains pitted against normal heroes.

Poison Ivy

The Brave and the Bold Villains
DC Comics

The Brave and the Bold does not necessarily have to take the comic’s path; it could just do the right way, which is by introducing Poison Ivy, who resembles Harley Quinn but still manages to feel like a distinct character.

Her seductive powers perfectly place Batman and Damian in a problematic position, putting their father-son relationship to the test, and given that she has already appeared in a live-action film, Batman and Robin (1997)which did not do justice to her character, The Brave and the Bold feels like a perfect opportunity to give importance to the temptress.

However, in order for this to happen, the film must not emphasize any romance between Batman and Talia Al Ghul other than acknowledging their relationship because we don’t want to see Batman as a playboy, do we?

Killer Moth

The Brave and the Bold Villains
DC Comics

Not all of Batman’s enemies have to be ruthless criminals like the Joker or Bane, but they can also be amusing and give the Gotham Knight a run for his money. In that sense, Killer Moth would be an ideal antagonist for The Brave and the Bold. Killer Moth, who used to go by Drury Walker, apparently read an article about Batman while in prison and chose to become the antithesis of the Gotham Knight.

After being released from prison, he even created a Mothcave and Mothmobile inspired by the Batcave and Batmobile, and time and time again; he wanted to do everything the opposite of what Batman had done, making him not just a mad villain but also one who kept the Gotham Vigilante busy. So far, practically all Batman films have been somewhat serious, with Matt Reeves’ The Batman breaking down barriers and ultimately depicting the character as a comic accurate.

Since the upcoming movie won’t focus solely on Batman but will also include some essential events from Damian Wayne, it would be great to see a more lighthearted version, especially since James Gunn never sets his mind to a project that doesn’t include plenty of humor.
