Welcome 3 Shoot To Come To A Halt? FWICE Appeals to Akshay Kumar and Others Not To Shoot The Film Before The Previous 2 Crore Dues Are Paid—
The shooting of Welcome 3 may be suspended due to a non-cooperative directive issued by the Federation of Western India Cine Employees (FWICE) against producer Firoz Nadiadwala. According to the directive, Firoz has not paid Rs. 2 crore to Anees Bazmee for the previous installment of the franchise, “Welcome Back” (2015).
Welcome Back, produced by Firoz Nadiadwala and directed by Anees Bazmee, achieved commercial success despite not matching the level of its predecessor, Welcome (2007). Firoz had issued a Rs. 2 crore check to Anees Bazmee, which bounced. He is yet to fulfill the payment.
FWICE has expressed support for Bazmee and has urged Akshay Kumar, the other actors, and the technicians of Welcome 3 not to proceed with the film until Bazmee receives his dues. FWICE has also written to Jyoti Deshpande of Jio Studios, requesting her not to begin the next film until previous dues have been settled. Will this matter be resolved soon so that Welcome To The Jungle can commence shooting smoothly?
Directed by Ahmed Khan, Welcome 3 features Akshay Kumar, Sanjay Dutt, Paresh Rawal, Arshad Warsi, Disha Patani, Jacqueline Fernandez, Raveena Tandon, Rajpal Yadav, Suniel Shetty, Tusshar Kapoor, Shreyas Talpade, Krushna Abhishek, Kiku Sharda, Daler Mehndi, Mika Singh, Rahul Dev, Mukesh Tiwari, Sharib Hashmi, Inaamulhaq, Zakir Hussain, and Yashpal Sharma. The film is set to release on December 20, 2024.
