Obi-Wan Kenobi Season 2: Will there be a second season of the Disney Plus Star Wars show Obi-Wan Kenobi? This is a common question, since the last episode of Season 1 finished with a big conclusion but left the door open for a new story to be told.

Ben Kenobi was finally able to let go of his guilt about Anakin Skywalker going to the Dark Side when he saved Princess Leia and took her back home. He finally meets Luke Skywalker when he is a kid, but Kenobi’s story isn’t over yet.

Qui-Gon Jinn, who used to be Kenobi’s Jedi Master, shows up as a force ghost, ready to finish his training. Reva, on the other hand, survived a blow from Darth Vader that should have killed her, leaving her story unfinished.

But was Obi-Wan Kenobi popular and good enough for there to be a second season? Kathleen Kennedy, who is in charge of Lucasfilm, might know the answer.

Kathleen Kennedy, who is the president of Lucasfilm, said that a second season of the Star Wars show won’t happen soon, if it happens at all.

When asked about a possible second season of the Ewan McGregor-led show, Kennedy told Variety, “That is not something that is in the works.” “But I never say “never” because anything is possible. That show was so well-liked, and Deborah Chow did such a great job as the director.

Kennedy said that McGregor, who played Obi-Wan Kenobi in the Star Wars prequel trilogy, “really wants to do” another season of Obi-Wan Kenobi. McGregor played the title character in the prequel trilogy. Kennedy said that right now, everyone at Lucasfilm is “all hands on deck” with the company’s Star Wars projects. “We might think about that again in the future,” she said.

Has season 2 been given the go-ahead for Obi-Wan Kenobi?

She talked to Variety about several Star Wars projects at the London Star Wars Celebration. When asked if there would be a second season of Obi-Wan Kenobi, she said, “That is not something that is happening right now.”

But she still had more to say. Will there be Obi-Wan Kenobi Season 2? That’s still a mystery.

At this point, we think it’s safe to say that a second season of Obi-Wan Kenobi is a maybe. It’s easy to see why the show isn’t a priority when The Mandalorian is still a cultural hit, the much-anticipated Ahsoka isn’t coming out for a few more months, and three new Star Wars films are in the works.

Lucasfilm set the record straight about the studio’s plans for making a second season of the Obi-Wan Kenobi show for Disney+ in 2022.

In May 2022, when Ewan McGregor came back as former Jedi Master Obi-Wan Kenobi, it was a big deal. It was the first time since 2005’s Episode III: Revenge of the Sith that the veteran actor had played the iconic part.

Obi-Wan Kenobi was advertised as a limited series the whole time it was on Disney+. This almost made it impossible for the show to have a second season before it was even made.

A surprising rumour from June 2022 said that Disney and Lucasfilm were already working on Season 2, hinting that fans might see more of the Jedi hero than they first thought.

The top boss at Lucasfilm talks about Obi-Wan Kenobi Season 2. The head of Lucasfilm, Kathleen Kennedy, told Variety that we might get Obi-Wan Kenobi Season 2 after all.

Kennedy said that a second season is “not in active development,” but the studio may still want to bring Kenobi back in the future because fans and even Ewan McGregor are very interested.

Will there be more of Obi-Wan Kenobi?

Taking Kennedy’s words at face value, it looks like Lucasfilm is sticking to its word about Obi-Wan Kenobi being a limited series on Disney+.

Trailers for Ahsoka, Skeleton Crew, and Andor Season 2 were shown at Star Wars Celebration, which just revealed a lot of new projects for both TV and movies. Along with a new Star Wars movie about the time after the Skywalker Saga, Lucasfilm will have a lot of new projects coming out in the next few years.

Even though there is a chance that Obi-Wan Kenobi could have a second season, Kennedy and the rest of the team seem happy to keep this story to only six episodes and not drag it out too much.

But the idea could be brought up again in a few years when more of these new Disney+ shows and films come out, giving McGregor another chance to shine as his famous figure.

But we’re curious: do you think there should be a second season of Obi-Wan Kenobi? If that’s the case, what do you want to happen?
