The mid-season update, Patch 10.1.5, titled “Fractures in Time,” is set to launch on July 11. This update will bring a plethora of new content to World of Warcraft, including a sprawling megadungeon, several quality of life updates, and a new daily activity called Time Rifts, which will take players to alternate realities of the timeline of Azeroth to prevent history from unraveling.
Players can earn Paracausal Flakes by completing quests and collecting relics from these alternate realities, then trade them to a series of vendors to unlock collectibles themed after each universe. One of the collectibles is the Pauldrons of the Fire Lord, which are identical to the flaming shoulder armor of Ragnaros, one of the most iconic raid bosses in the game’s history. The Pauldrons of the Fire Lord, which can be used by any class, costs 1100 Paracausal Flakes.
Ragnaros is not only one of the first but also one of the most iconic raid bosses in World of Warcraft. Ragnaros and Onyxia were the only two raids available when WoW launched, and Ragnaros was considered to be the harder one. The iconic elemental lord made a comeback in World of Warcraft: Cataclysm during the Firelands raid with the high-resolution model that Pauldrons of the Fire Lord is taken from. Ragnaros is also a playable DPS hero in Heroes of the Storm.
