10 Biggest Questions The Superman & Lois Season 3 Finale Needs To Answer

The season 3 finale of Superman and Lois has left fans with several questions that demand answers. While some of these queries revolve around the multiple storylines and subplots that unfolded throughout the season, others pertain to production issues at The CW network and DC Studios, as well as the show’s future beyond season 4.
In season 3, the central plot revolved around Clark Kent and Lois Lane’s attempts to expose the illegal activities of crime boss Bruno Mannheim. During their investigation, they discovered that Mannheim had framed Lex Luthor for a crime he didn’t commit. In the penultimate episode, Luthor was released from prison, and he sought revenge against both Superman and Lois Lane, blaming them for ruining his reputation with their reporting.
The season 3 finale promises an epic confrontation between Luthor and the Kents, with The CW network president Brad Schwartz teasing a cliffhanger that will leave fans on the edge of their seats. One big question regarding Superman and Lois season 4 is how many members of the Superman & Lois supporting cast will make guest appearances. To save money, The CW reduced the core cast for the upcoming season, with only the actors playing Superman, Lois, their twin sons, and Lex Luthor remaining as series regulars. While there is a possibility of some of the cut actors appearing as guest stars, actor Dylan Walsh, who plays General Sam Lane, has reportedly declined to return. This raises the possibility that his character and some of the other supporting characters might be killed off as part of the big cliffhanger.
8 What Resources Does Lex Luthor Still Have?
One question raised by the penultimate episode of Superman and Lois season 3, “Injustice,” is just what resources Lex Luthor has available to him following his release from prison. Lex clearly had access to some savings, having been able to pay professional assassins to menace the warden of Stryker’s Prison while incarcerated. It is implied, however, that Luthor’s wife may have taken control of his business enterprises and that he no longer has access to his labs at LexCorp. This may explain why his first action, after threatening Lois Lane, is to raid Bruno Mannheim’s secret lab.

The Superman and Lois season 3 episode “Injustice” found Jordan Kent rebelling against his parents and their desire to keep his existence as a superhero as secret as possible. Originally, this rebellion was limited to Jordan openly defending a classmate who was trying to convince his friends that a superhero had saved him from a car crash. Later, Jordan willfully disobeyed his father, landing in front of a crowd of civilians and posing for selfies after helping Superman to stop a tornado that threatened Smallville.
It is clear that Jordan enjoys the celebrity status his powers grant. A larger concern, however, is the tension that has arisen between him and his former girlfriend Sarah Cortez, who has suffered greatly trying to keep Jordan’s secret. After arguing with his parents over the need for secrecy, there is a possibility that Jordan might reveal himself to the world, if only to ease the pressure on the girl he loves.
5 Can Jordan and Sarah Save Their Friendship?
The young love between Sarah and Jordan has been a major subplot of Superman and Lois since the beginning. Their relationship changed in season 3, with Sarah saying she just wanted to be friends after learning why Jordan had a habit of randomly disappearing. Unfortunately, Jordan couldn’t work past his romantic feelings for Sarah, and the tension between them grew worse over the course of the season. This culminated in a fight in “Injustice” where Sarah told Jordan to stay out of her life. There seems to be little chance of their romance being rekindled at this point, but their friendship might still be salvaged.

The son of Bruno and Peia Mannheim, Matteo’s star-crossed romance with Natalie Irons was one of the most tragic storylines of Superman and Lois season 3. Torn between his love for Natalie and his criminal parents, Matteo won amnesty for his crimes after his father agreed to surrender to the Department of Defense to save his son. With John Henry Irons agreeing to take care of Matteo in his father’s absence, the possibility is there for Matteo to join the Irons family in high-tech crime-fighting with a supersuit of his own.
